I just saw the picture without reading your post and thought of Higurashi. Looks amazing and reminds me that I have to go there some day.

@Mycanid: This place looks devoid of humans. o.O Still looks great though.

The place I went was, after all, a "tourist site" which is protected and "upheld" by UNESCO ... but to be honest I deliberately waited to take pics when there were no people around as well. :) In my photos I often like to take pics without people. Not always, but if possible.

I know XD but I dont think many people would actually dare doing that (especially when they dont speak Japanese). I used to pass at least 3 highschools every day, when I was in Japan. But guess what, never bothered taking pictures cause I wanted to prevent something like this:

Anyway, if you go to Japan and want to take pics of schoolgirls. I know two train-lines that are always stamped with them. First line is the Keio Inokashira in Tokyo, running between Kichijoji and Shibuya (komabatodaime station alone is surrounded by 3 highschools). Think we even got a boxtorrentmember living near that line!!!
http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?topic=16905.0 (go puppy-eye him and ask for pictures :P)
Second line is a JR Line, from shinano-omachi going north. Basically connecting a lot of villages that dont have a highschool XD.
Well, happy hunting and dont get arrested ;) The girls are extra lovely at the ending of sakura-season, when they enjoy the sakura flowers falling down and hop around happily while walking to school! (sorry, also no picture of this event. but imagine this street full of highschool uniforms hopping and spinning around between the falling sakura's: http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/8467/dsc00952j.jpg)

True ... there were plenty of high schools in Nagoya around where I was staying, one was an all-girls high school.

As for pics with people ... I think the next round of pics has a few people barely visible in the background. :p

Funny, I immediately thought of that scene from NHK Housou Kyoukai when asking for pictures  :D great Anime it was BTW.

Well, I went to Hawaii a few summers ago and took lots of pictures of cute Japanese school-girls with a disposable Kodak camera, but the guy who developed our pictures stole them all  :-\ he could have at least made copies before stealing those pictures. Not even joking about this  :D

Looks nice, reminds me of that scene from the Alternate Ending from End of Eva.
BTW When you linked to that topic I was guessing it would be Houkouonchi's topic and I was right ^^

Also where was that picture taken, the one with the umbrellas and that little meganeko with the golden crown thing, you posted?

Hate to derail the topic too much but everywhere else has a thread for posting pictures of cute Asian girls ^^
So for any one else who stopped by for that reason, have some pictures (taken from some of my MPEG Transport Streams):

Okay ... thought I would do another round of pictures here. :)

These are from the Kenrokuen garden in Kanazawa. I thought it was the most beautiful of the Japanese Gardens I visited.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenrokuen for more on the place.

Another "epic post" length wise!

And that's it. :)

Did you take a photography class or something? These look all professional-like.

Erm ... no. I have never taken any classes in photography.

But thank you for the compliment! :)

Every time you post these 'epic length' posts my heart breaks a little more at the wondrous sites. "Epic Sigh!"

:D

I am glad you like them!

This last garden was a very beautiful place. After thinking about it a little I think it was the beauty of the garden that really helped to bring out the photographer in me more than anything else. As you can tell from the other pics I posted I not that stupendous with a camera.

Hmm ... I think I may have a few more pics somewhere around here ... but admittedly I am getting to the end of what I took...

Some very nice pics here.  I just got back today from a 2 week trip to Tokyo (with sidetrips to Kamakura, Yokohama, and Nikko), and I'll share some of my pics once I get them loaded, organized a bit, and resized to something appropriate.

After about 20 hours or so of travel time, I can't quite think straight right now... I don't want to go to sleep, but I'm too tired to do much at the moment.

EDIT:  Here are just a few pics from my trip in May.  These have been resized, and some have come out a bit grainier than I like.

It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.
