Does anyone have the latest animated Yamato movie Yamato Rebirth?  I don't care what quality or language it's in!

Raws from the Bluray release can now be found on various public trackers, and these include a file which pupports to be the original japanese subs.
So far, I've been unable to find anything in english.
Is anyone aware of a group out there who may be taking on the translation of this? (or willing to?)

If you want it on BBT, you should care about what quality and language it's in. And try searching in TT and google before you ask for it. It's better to start with some information than stuff like "I want this movie though no group is listed in AniDB".
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

I made that request for information in May, I found the blu ray release almost two weeks ago.  I had mentioned in a posting that there were no English subtitles and I am well aware of the rules when uploading to BakaBT.  As for Googling the movie, I had been doing that since last January;  I used every possible means to find Yamato Rebirth.

Okay, so, first of all, sorry that my bump of the thread resulted in hanayome chewing-out chewchilla (pardon the pun).
Secondly, rather than turn this into a flame war, would anyone actually care to comment on whether there has been any interest from a fansub group for this movie?
Watching the japanese is fun and all, but as was previously pointed out, it has no place here on BBT unless some kind of English subs could be provided.

This pretty much hints that there is no subbed version yet.

I completely agree.  It seems apparent that there is no subbed version available *today*.
My post may not have made that obvious, but I had picked up on this fact.
What I am really wondering is whether anyone out there who is better connected to the subbing community than myself might be aware of a group, or individual, who is currently working, or planning to work, on this.

We currently have a pretty decent collection of subbed Uchuu Senkan Yamato material here on BBT, and I'd love to see it get rounded out with the newest movie, Fukkatsu-Hen, if at all possible.

Thia is the link to the Japanese subs.

Anyway, all I was really trying to say was that I really wanted this movie.....lol!  I started watching Star Blazers in the 70's and it's what got me into anime, so I guess you could say I'm a very loyal follower.  I've watched the new movie 6 or 7 times, I must say the animation and graphics are fantastic...subs would be great though; this is when I wish I spoke Japanese. :(  The only thing that irked me about the movie was the use of classical music, I found it distracting and overused in almost every battle/combat scene.  Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, and Chopin are all wonderfull composers but I actually turned the volume down while watching a few times.

Just be patient. Try poking some fansub groups' staff. If they take interest in the anime, your good luck.

I know an English subbed version DOES exist, since it was premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival in July 2010.  However, I'm not sure if anyone has access to this version.

I was thinking of making a version with sub narrations.  Instead of line-by-line translations, I would insert an explanation about what is going on in each scene.  I would attempt a line-by-line translation if I had the time, but translating, timing, and hardcoding is really cumbersome.

Let me know if anyone is interested.  Hopefully, a sub narration version will hold us until a fansub group finally decides to take on and finish the project.

------------------------------------------

If anyone has a link to the Japanese subtitle files, I can begin to translate during my free time.  At least timing will not be an issue if I have access to the Japanese subs.  But, it may take several months before I finish, since I'll be pretty busy into next year.

EDIT newy: Please use the Modify button to edit your previous post and don't doublepost. Posts merged.

I just noticed chewchilla posted a link to subs but .sup files are almost useless because they are very difficult to convert to .srt or .ass files...especially if the source contains Japanese/Chinese characters.  Essentially, it would be easier to start from scratch than convert a .sup file.

If anyone has a link to the Japanese subs in .srt or .ass, please post link.  Or, if anyone knows of a software that makes Japanese .sup file conversion easier, please let me know.

By the way...about the double posting.  My messages are asking for different things...THEY ARE NOT EDITS OF THE SAME MESSAGE!  My first post asked people if they were interested in a sub narrated version.  Second post was an offer to do subs if someone can link me to Japanese subs.  Third post was to address chewchilla's link.  What's the big deal?

POST MERGED, please stop double posting

Unfortunately, all I've found so far is the same .SUP file.
That versions from the Fantasia Festival provides some glimmer of hope, at least.  Maybe we'll be seeing a North American (or European) release sometime in the near future?

I've never been on a message board where the moderators are soooooo anal.   >:( >:( >:(.  WTF are you talking about double posts!  They are DIFFERENT MESSAGES STATING DIFFERENT THINGS WRITTEN AT DIFFERENT TIMES.  I'm also addressing the people who PMed me.  I'm outta here.

Multiple successive posts by the same user are allowed to some extent only if you want to bump a thread which is several days/weeks old, otherwise they are frowned upon. In such cases, use "Modify" function instead.

no need to create a new topic:
would someone be so kind to upload the 720p version by ANBU?
