I'd start buying and selling shit to prop up some of my funds. Really skimp till I've gotten things sorted out. Be creative - get some cash - think of stuff while you're sitting around - there's a load of ways to get some $ all over the place ... just need to poke around and find them.
If you've got bankruptcy laws/debt laws and such there in UK - I'd look into them. See if you can find yourself a consumer advice person, find out how you can get bills in check ( forbearance maybe? Roll your debt into current and it's like you were never late. Explain your situation to the collector before it gets screwed. )
But of course, by all means - take care of yourself first. Screw all the bills - till you get on your feet. Cut cut cut expenses, etc. You need home & food first - everything else can wait. Plus, if the jobs aren't where you are right now ... ever consider bailing from there?
I know if I needed to, I'd high-tail it out of here. I can get a kick-ass job in the right location, where I am - isn't it. If I ever needed - I'd relocate. Consider that.
Shit happens - it's not the end of the world or anything.
Just happened when you weren't prepared. Bites, but you can pick up some good experiences from the situation ... if you could say that.
As for "zomgz if you can has internets you have enough money so stfu," I'd seriously have to shoot myself in the face without the internet.
Also, not everyone can just go get a shit minimum wage job. My skill set makes me too good to work there
...
I have a 4 year degree in business from Akron University. They have a respected business school.
But no skill set is "too good" when you're desperate enough. I managed a pizza place to support myself when I was laid off. I didn't have a dad or mom to run back too. Now I'm currently in commercial HVAC. Paying bills and making a decent living. Don't limit yourself because you think you're "too good" for something. Or you know what? Do limit yourself. You'll leave jobs open for those of us who want to work.
Yeah - funny shit happens all over the place. I stared out with Computer Science, expecting to work in a nice kooshy office - and end up doing order fulfillment with some regular old computer work here and there. ( Learned a shitload about running an operation, PLUS have some unique computer problems & issuers I've seen - that I would have never ever seen in an office or standard It job. )
As for my office -
It's a beat up old office chair at a desk in a warehouse with a cold-ass concrete floor - big ol steel girders all over the place ... plenty of dust & boxes everywhere.

( ugh, and fucking bugs .. damnit bugs ... we also had a bat die off so there's mosquitoes all over the damn place. Damn bitch ass mosquitoes ... UGH. )
Not quite what I had in mind when I signed up to be an IT guy way back when. lol.
Hell - works & keeps me reasonably happy. I don't care. ( In other words - know your standards? That ideal job you were thinking of? Toss it all out the window. Do what you can, when you can - all that matters is how much is in your bank account. )
