Unemployed Rant
OniSamurai:
The only advice I can give is that you take WHATEVER work you can. Ask family, friends, neighbors, anyone if they know of a full time position. I know work is hard to find, but sometimes you have to take whatever is available to you to make money. I know a guy who's never had a job for more than a few months. He didn't have a GED, and he refused to work in food, retail, or physical labor. Honestly without at least a GED you don't have much of a choice BUT to do one of those 3. Just because you might not like it, doesn't mean you should never do it. If you are truly desperate for money then you have to do whatever it takes to make it.
And honestly, I really hope you can pull yourself out of this rut. We've all been pinned against the wall at least once in our life, this is when your true character truly shines. Will you give up? Or will you overcome this and make yourself a better person in the process, and hopefully learn a valuable life lesson or 2.
Good luck to you!

With a loan to pay off (which is on a repayment plan yet... if I leave it will mean I'll end up being in trouble with the bank and more)... overdraft I'm barely managing to get sorted out... It leaves me with fuck all money with the limited job seekers allowance... and my car is just left in the car park rotting because I cant afford any parts or materials for maintaining it... I'm just seriously at a loss here... All I want is a full time job... How hard is it really to find?
Now I know some guys here have been off work a lot longer since I've only been off work since September but for me... this feels like a life time... So many bills have come through... I haven't had a decent meal for months now... I was a wreck once before which is why I lost my job... if I become a wreck again... I just don't know what I'm supposed to do if that's the case....
I feel so desperate for work yet I still wonder why I'm finding it so difficult to get any??? I constantly look at places in the paper/job center and word of mouth yet I get nothing... Bah... I don't know...

cuz your a lazy fucking bitch who doesnt wanna work the easily attained jobs that are available that sound like they would be hard work and are definitively shitty pay. Learn to not whine like a bitch and get a job if you want one.

To be brutally honest, you need to swallow your pride and DO something about it. There are always methods.
#1. You OWN a car. Sell that shit for whatever you can get. Buy a lock and a bike. Transportation with far less costs.
#2. There are ALWAYS jobs available that can pay off the bills. As others have said, fast food, crap contracting, factory work etc. are always available.
#3. If you have ANY luxuries such as internet, those are always methods. Frik, find a way to get free if you need to surf, if you're THAT desperate, you can use internet/tv costs to supplement things. Lose a bill, add a payment amount. It doubles in power.
#4. If you hear nothing at all, did you ever consider you have a shitty resume that isn't about what you put on it but how you put stuff on it? Check for grammar problems, check for spelling errors, check for improper used words like you're, your etc. Also check your cover letter.

I feel for you. My company is going out of business, and I'll be out of a job next month. With so many people looking for work, employers are only offering shit wages that will be less than what I can get on unemployment. Not that I can get those jobs anyway since there are so many people in this town with a ton more experience than me also looking for work.
If I can't find something by the end of the month I'm going to just pack up and head back to Texas and live with my dad again. Hopefully the job market out there is better.
As for "zomgz if you can has internets you have enough money so stfu," I'd seriously have to shoot myself in the face without the internet.
Also, not everyone can just go get a shit minimum wage job. My skill set makes me too good to work there, and they know it. The instant I get a better job offer, I'd be gone. I used to have a shit minimum wage job, and we turned plenty of people away for this very reason.
Not qualified enough to compete with other people in my own field, over qualified to work a shitty job (that would pay less than umeployment anyway). Feels bad, man.

I have a 4 year degree in business from Akron University. They have a respected business school.
But no skill set is "too good" when you're desperate enough. I managed a pizza place to support myself when I was laid off. I didn't have a dad or mom to run back too. Now I'm currently in commercial HVAC. Paying bills and making a decent living. Don't limit yourself because you think you're "too good" for something. Or you know what? Do limit yourself. You'll leave jobs open for those of us who want to work. ;)
