His acting in the movie was repetitive? As in he kept the same demeanor and talked, like he was in character or something?

Never heard that before. Googled it and still couldn't find anything.

He is a legend. And he is also one of the more heavily typecasted actors around. I wouldn't put diverse and Connery in the same sentence. Though he is the best Bond imo.

now there's some great and diverse actors

Agreed.

And if I were to do a Tom Hanks Marathon, it would go something like:

Cast Away
The Green Mile
Saving Private Ryan
The Da Vinci Code
Catch Me If You Can

Movie marathons wear me out though, I doubt I could get through all 5 of those in a day. At least with my sanity in tact.  ;)

I meant that Hanks would play roles in a very monotonous way.

The Jesus Christ comment, well, I know for sure I read it on one of those msn links before. So it must have been a blog. No idea where it is now. (Maybe it was taken down) But if no evidence for that can be located, I will concede and retract my statement.

I meant Connery's roles. Though maybe my memory is fuzzy.

The rock
Medicine man
Bond

Seemed very different roles to me. Still somewhat badass, but he played them out differently.

I'd choose Nick Cage over Hanks though. Hanks IMO seems to lack emotion in a lot of his later roles. Not to mention many times he looks like he's reciting a clip board or something.

mgz:
ide chose directors or writers over an actor that way you get different movies. Most modern actors are type cast.

I also like Connery. His range is limited, but it's there. He went from aloof, eccentric archeologist in Indy and the grail; to steadfast, calculating commander in Hunt for Red October.

OniSamurai:
I'll agree with Nick Cage over Hanks. I used to dislike Cage for some reason for many years, said he was a crappy actor and everything. But yet I loved almost all his movies. I've come to the conclusion that he is a good actor, even if I cannot point out why that is. That, or he just gets casted in very good movies all the time.

Yeah, I agree on some level. But my two favorite directors are Kurosawa and Scorcese, while they have many fantastic movies, a lot seem to be in the same category with each other (Scorcese with mob movies and Kurosawa with Samurai movies).

Not sure how everyone feels about this actor, but I think Leonardo DiCaprio is a very diverse actor, and can play many roles. I love a lot of movies that he is in.
