AFAIK, at the moment 32-bit software still has the upper hand with optimizations and compatibility.

For most filters and codecs in cccp there is a 64-bit version, what you say is most likely why cccp doesn't have a 64-bit version.

^You're certainly not using any part of CCCP if you're using MPC-HC x64.

Really? Hmm... I was using x86 MPC till a couple days ago, I guess I haven't noticed.

You will probably have trouble with MKV files that use linked segments.

Yeah usually x64 codecs will just cause you a bunch of headaches. It is a work in progress and hasn't taken off that much. For the average user CCCP is good. Shark007 is a good alternative and comes in handy if you have very particular preferences or like having room to play around with settings and tweaks.
