Random Things I Learned From My Trip to Tokyo

Japanese people only (generally) smoke the tip of their cigarettes. (25% to 50%) They generally don't go all the way down.
At least that's what I saw when I was in Tokyo.

What? They don't smoke all the way? What a waste, cigarettes are expensive!! Smoking itself is a very expensive addiction.

Beats the hell out of me… maybe because my roommate looks like he belongs in a death metal band? We were actually very careful not to be the stereotypical “Ugly American”. But we did get a few dirty looks for no real reason. It was pretty amusing, actually.

We were in Shibuya at 12pm, and I thought the place was filthy! Actually, that WAS the only part of town I’ve seen that I thought was dirty. The rest of what we saw in Tokyo was generally much cleaner.

Cigarettes must be cheaper there then ... a packet of 30 cigarettes costs 6€ in Belgium (7,3$ / 112¥) which has an average income of 1000€ - 1200€
Otherwise talking about throwing your money away ???

Well when you smoke the worst stuff from cigarette is in the last third of it, so if you do not smoke that part it is a bit healthier. You smoke it and all the bad stuff pile up at the end of it and so on.
But I still think that it is kind of stupid to do this -you smoke, it is not healthy, and you want to do it the healthy way. Kind of does not compute with me.
