Me to, and am the second biggest uploader on the site ;)
You can either do things the cheap way, log out and download via the guest account, then seed it back on your account
or if you want to do it properly, you can buy a seedbox/dedicated server to seed on....since if you insist on downloading a lot using your actual account it's the only viable way.
as for improving your overall speeds, pick things with little seeds but decent demand...some xvid torrents are very good, or high demand torrents...like Black lagoon, Bebop, Naruto...popular stuff.

Thank you, this is exactly the kind of post I was looking for.
I'll look into obtaining a seedbox, as yes I am serious about being a decent member of this community and not just looking for a quick fix for free anime.
I'm perfectly capable of finding a host if required, but before I go looking around are there any hosts you would recommend? I'd much rather know I'm buying from somewhere recommended by other users than somewhere that may or may not screw me over.
Thank you for the help.

Thanks, I'll look into getting a seedbox first as this seems to be the more... "morally correct" option.
blubart:
if there would be a magical button the community would know of
1) you would find posts about it using the search function
2) we would include it in the wiki. ;)
you can always just logout to not care about your ratio.
other thoughts: 100KB/s is actually a pretty decent upload speed considering the general average.
the point Mirgond most likely tried to convey was: how can you possibly expect a magical solution to pop up only because you specifically created a thread - even though in a dozen similar threads (you apparently read) no other solution was offered.
the option about getting a seedbox is actually pointed out in the wiki :P
(admittedly under the not exactly describing headline "Oh dear, I'm going to have to sell my house, car and dog to have enough to fix my ratio. Anything cheaper and faster?" ... lol)

I was being quite optimistic there - when I say 100kB/s is my max I mean the absolute fastest I could possibly upload at, in the middle of the night, with no other applications running and with no-one else in my area using the internet.
Usually, I can (realistically) reach about 65kB/s maximum, and I can manage 15kB/s before my other applications (I play an online MMORPG named World of Warcraft a lot) start to lag too badly to enjoy.
And yes, I understood Mirgond's post, however I tried to be as reasonable as possible in my first post rather than just "admin help pls my accunt being warn" or whatever nonsense you normally see. And what you just said is more or less the opposite to what I was trying to ask (It's late, I'm tired, and I have terrible insomnia so I'll probably read this later and see where you're coming from). I wasn't looking for a "magical solution", I just wanted general guidance on anything else that I could have missed.
If you don't ask, you won't get.
Freedom Kira:
Pardon the language, but what the hell are you complaining about?
Europe has some of the best speeds. Really, they do. If you don't believe me, look at the world stats on Speedtest.
My max upload is 64KBps, and I limit that to 37KBps for torrents (27 for anime, 10 for other). And I'm not complaining. There are people using this site who live in Australia, and their speeds are even worse than this. Heck, 100KBps used to be my max download speed before I switched ISPs.
If you're really worried, seedbox or seed 24/7. The latter should be enough - set up a separate machine dedicated to torrenting and file storage, and have it always running. And watch your downloading and ratio before you get warned - at this rate, you will be when your grace period is over.
One more thing:

Fixed that for you.
And for the record, just because your English is more readable than most n00bs out there doesn't mean you're less of a n00b. You're asking the same n00bish questions in the end, and we point them all to the exact same place, that magical place called the Wiki that they are told to go read when they register.
(P.S. you're lucky - if a certain other guy or certain other other guy found this thread before anyone else did, you would have been pwned badly like many poor n00bs before you)

Wait wait wait. Hold the phone... you can use the internet WHILE torrenting? Wait wait wait. You can play MMOs WHILE torrenting?.... I envy you so badly right now.... I have to choose! Using the internet or Torrenting. There is no middle way.
