Angel Beats Swedish Subtitles project
« on: June 06, 2010, 06:06:42 PM »

Banner made by Failboat, Many thanks for making it! :)
:Note: this is a project made just for fun ^^
As the title says
Angel Beats Swedish Subtitles project, founded by me, 30 minutes ago xD, will call it, [SHB], Swedish HomeBrew.

But the reason i made this topic is to recruit people to the project
atm it's just me and one of my friends.

Other people that can talk Swedish can join aswell!, that's why i write this in english.
People we need is: ATM i'm all of these.
*Translator Filled, - Stream
*RAW guy Filled - Godofcheese - Me
*Quality checker Filled - Cherryleaf
*Timer, Maybe need one more except for myself.

well reply, comment if you are interested, we will start this project when all 13 episodes of Angel Beats has been release
 :P

Comment Why:
Stream: I too doubt that anyone will ever need the Swe subs.
But it might turn into something decent and something to be a little proud over this summer.
Godofcheese: To increase skill in Timing within Subbin, and to make myself noticed
//Stream, Godofcheese

Upload List:

Megaupload: Angel Beats Episode 1v2 old raw
Megaupload: Angel Beats Episode 1v2 ~700bitrate old raw
"New"
Megaupload: Angel Beats Episode 1v3 "xvid", not exactly, just that kind of Quality, or even better.

"Important Note!"
I've decided to re-make the whole thing, with another RAW, will take some time tho.. but will be better. and will make the inserts myself"still going to be in english..".. want to do something challenging. so will release another version tomorrow i think.

<-edit->
Added one v3, It's a new version with another raw encoded by me and the insert is made by me... so will keep on doing it this way 'cause the old raw contained credits from Static-subs team.. they encode stuff like into the video.. so i switched, too make this easier for me to upload i will encode/compress the raws down to ~400bitrate = 60mb, no "big" quality loss, it's watchable. doing this way 'cause my upload speed sucks, but no worrys, will upload the 720p later!

*laughs* Sounds like a nice idea, but unfortunately I won't have the time for it as I'm working and traveling quite a lot atm. I'm sure there are quite many of us Swedes around here, so recruiting shouldn't be too hard...

Will dl and check it out if the project succeeds!  ;D

I hope you have fun with the project, though I'm sure you understand that there's no need whatsoever for something like this; you'd be hard pressed to find a Swede incapable of watching a release with English subtitles. The masochist in me would probably have a look at one episode, though.

Of course there's really no point with this project, it's just for fun, it is fun to watch an anime with your language :P...or it's kinda stupid ^^  ;)

Pretty much all swedish subbed or dubbed movies sound quite silly in my opinion. :3

hehe... sertainly sounds like funny project... I'm not good with my swedish language  ;D
...though I should start to take it seriously 'cause the occupation I want (paramedic)
and finland you need both finnish and swedish... even bus drivers need to be able to speak both of the languages... but I'm interested on watching it (if it ever is completed), just 'cause I'm bad in swedish...  ;D
so I hope it will be finished  :D

could this be added to reason why someone would need swedish subs??
at leats english subs have helped me a lot with my english  ;D

I can promise you that I allmost laught any time when I'm listening swedish speaking, I not trying to offend anyone! ...'cause I need to talk it myself sometimes :P ...one time in a shop in Tammisaari
(Ekenäs, in swedish found near Hanko (Hangö) in southern Finland) when the shop assistant spoke (I were asking where to find the shells with something can't remember what I were looking for...)litle english and even less finnish, got some though time, this happened last summer when I were wisiting friend on their summer palce in Hanko, I took ''short'' stop (Tammisaari is one of the areas in Finland where they speak mostly swedish)...

Indeed ^^ hehe
Even i think so,... but dubbed movies only occur at kid movies, and it sounds really silly...and the swedish names of the english ones is just horrible! XD don't want to talk about that ^^

I doubt that aswell, but it's just for fun ^^
And i get some training in Timing, just love it  :D

I could add that as a reason why i wanna do this,
but it's as Stream says, nobody will need, but it cant turn into something decent, for me it increases my Timing skills within subbing.

I went ahead and downloaded it out of curiosity.

I lasted two seconds. That's how long it took for the first line to appear—in ungrammatical Swedish. Unless this is an intentional device, I recommend that you find a capable editor.

Haha xD
ungrammatical Swedish?, what line do you mean then? :P, if you lasted just for 2 seconds
i'm curious! xD plz tell ^^

--edit--
Saw the picture now XD
Couldn't really translate it any better than that really
Try to watch the whole thing, and come back with more feedback ^^

--edit--
Correction on the first line, it should be "Förbränningsugn" = Incinerator"

I don't watch Angel Beats, so I have no idea how accurate the translation is. The main problem with that line, however, is that you're using the wrong adverb.

"Vart ska vi börja?" is not a valid Swedish sentence; it should read "Var ska vi börja?" Keep in mind that we differentiate between var (befintlighet) and vart (rörelse). The latter is only used when some form of motion is implied. If you, for some reason, are unsure of which to use, you can always check whether the question can be answered using här and där or hit and dit; if the former two work, then you should use var. If the latter two work, then you should use vart. Let's look at the line in question:

"Vart ska vi börja?"
"Dit."

That doesn't work at all.

"Var ska vi börja?"
"Där."

That works just fine.

--Edit--
Better to write swedish in PM i think.. if we are going to continue that way?

No, you didn't write that. I used it as an example to show you why "Vart ska vi börja?" is ungrammatical. I'm assuming that the original line was something along the lines of "Where should we begin?"

"Where is the station?" -> "Var ligger stationen?" (Befitlighet)
"Where are you going?" -> "Vart ska du åka?" (Rörelse)

Do you see the difference?
