Another thing i'd like to know is how much it's going to cost when it gets released here. Remember that outside the US the 3GS is still $1,000.00 (Not $200.00), iPad 64Gig is about the same price, i wonder how it'll affect the current gen.

If an unsubsidized 3GS costs 1000USD your local retailers are raping people in their asses.
All you have to do is study it out. Just study it out.

You've got AT&T padding the cost so you're not really seeing how much your phone costs in reality. It just means it's easier for us to apple products for what they are. Overpriced and overhyped. How much do you think a 3GS is in Europe?

In comparison, a Nokia 5800MX is $280.00. A 1201N netbook is $630.00. A u230 is $460.00. Not too far from international prices. If the local retailers could lower the price down, they would have instead of having the same phone on display for the last year.

The new iPhone finally stopped being ugly. And by now it's actually something I can call a good device.
Still, even if I had the money, I wouldn't buy one.

True. I concur such devices have use, but not for me. I'd rather keep things separate and life simple. I don't need to pour my life into a technological device and feel I have achieved something of value when I note that my calendar is full; I have a million contacts; I check whatever website every 30 seconds because I'm a crazy no-life fucker with nothing better to do; I have an earphone stuck to my ear like a big white wart with a very thick line of growth sticking out of it coming out of my ear 20 hours per day; My hands in the same (except worse) position that I once had when playing with my GBC/GBLite.... personally my hands should only be that close for so long in a single day when I am stuck in handcuffs. etc.

I'm not talking just about the iphone, but the android and nokia and xperia and everything else applies too. I have yet to find a need to need a smartphone. (Minus the fact that the iPhone is a media player with phone capabilities, it still sort of fits)

That's an odd design choice. Weren't they criticizing the other phones designs and saying that their rounded edges and back were cooler? Now they've gone back on their word and made the new one blocky too :-\

dude! round is soOOOoo 2009 . . .look at 2010 models. . .the new iphone the new Sony Bravia, the new LG Infinia. . .everything is squared with glass over it to make it look shiny and nice!

the mustang went back to being squared (a while back i know)
square's in

which is one reason I hate the Japanese cell-phones so much and why I'm glad I got my HT-06 (I think it's a 06).

My Contract is up since march so I will be upgrading to this. Im interested to see if they really did improve the battery life, since my current iPhone 3G is giving me the 20% battery warning on my way home from work each day now.

perfect example of whats wrong with apple fanboys

you know what most ppl do when their phones battery dies after a year of owning it and its dead by the end of the day without good reason. They call the phone a piece of shit and get a new one if they can.

What did you do the mess up the battery?
Nothing, Battery Life Sucks on Smartphones. I use the GPS feature of the iPhone to help me find my appointments each day and the GPS eats the battery up quickly on the iPhone, thats whay I am hoping they improved.

The battery did not die after a year of ownership. I got a new job and do a lot of traveling. I use the GPS feature heavily now where I used to rarely use it. The result is the battery dies quickly. GPS is Battery Hell on the iPhone 3G. My post was me wishing the new iPhone 4 has a more energy efficient GPS chip.

Isn't that what a cars lighter port is for? Or are you commuting? Then again, if the battery was removable, you can just carry an  extra one.

my free (w/ contract) Droid came with an extra battery for just that reason. it gets great battery life if you turn off all the bells and whistles but if you use all the features you will end up swapping batteries.

I see, I don't know how much the GPS takes but it might be like that.

It's to bad that outside US they are iPhones cost so much. I love how Apple do some things and dislike the other things. But I would rather buy new lapotop rather than buy phone that can fall on ground and break. I love my Galaxy (i5700) to bad it wont have android 2.2 but using GPS on this is battery killer, and i wont expect anything other when sing Flash on it ;)

My first uncle wants me to get into contract with AT&T and then cancel it within the first two weeks so he can get the iPhone. He's paying for it. Oh, what more is my second uncle wants to unlock it, but doesn't feel like doing it at all because he's lazy!

It's okay thou. Androids will have similar features by the end of this year or early next year.

....
androids have most if not all of the features already released before this came out. It doesnt really have anything terribly groundbreaking. The htc HD2 Incredible or Evo ( hd2 and evo are basically the same but slightly differnet) just to name a few offhand that have like 99% of the same features
