Hey all,

Forgive me for covering old ground here, but I am repaving my PC and was wondering what media player everyone is using in the Windows 7 world, nowadays.  As for me, I have installed Sharky's Codec pack for Win 7 64-bit and, in the past, had used VLC as my media player, since WMP does not support subtitle switching in as elegant of a way.

Anything out there that's better / more optimal than VLC?

I am sure this is a forum topic somewhere, but searching is yielding no results for me at this point.  Sorry if I am restating what's already out there!

Thanks!

Media Player classic FTW. That with K-lite codec pack plays everything you can want... minus ISO. To play ISOs I just use VLC but that's not big of a problem because I download 720p and 1080p mkvs most of the time.

I'm using Zoom Player Home MAX, I haven't had any problems with it really and it works great.

First, CCCP - best codec pack available, imho.
For players - Media Player Classic is pretty much the standard, and what I use on my main PC, but mplayer is just as good, and for some things better.
VLC is... really, really bad. As far as I know only thing it's good for is streaming.
EDIT: Oh, and btw, Media Player Classic has no problems whatsoever with mounted ISO's.

Screw VLC, sticky with Shark007's, the 32-bit is 95% ok but 64-bit is a bit dodgy here and there.
