Asian movies/series BakaBT 'style'

Hi cute people!

I was wondering... does any site like BakaBT but for Asian movies/series exist? I know there's "Asian DVD Club" but:

1) It has only things in DVD format which sucks big time (huge sizes for regular 480p in MPEG2).
2) There is VERY little leecher activity (although the ratio requirement is not high, for people with shitty upload speeds like me it can be hard). Add to that the DVD format and is a killer combination.
3 and MOST important) THERE ARE NO BLURAY RIPS. It should be "Asian BD rips in H264 Club"


A tracker like BakaBT but for movies/series with real people in them would be nice. I mean rips in H264 (both BD and DVD), SRT or ASS subs, best version of everything and those things that make BakaBT great. It's VERY hard to find Asian stuff torrents out there :'(



Plus, ADC had a poll some time ago...

But only streaming? No downloads? I can barely stream from Youtube with this crap. Note that torrent speed is at 300-340 kB/s, but for some odd reason streaming is a nightmare here

AznV.tv streams via the use of nsv containers on winamp. Free servers are slightly slower during the summer, but premium servers should be slightly nicer. AFAIK, it has one of the best selection on the internet. (Archive wise) for Asian media (Movies, dramas and tv stuff). It should not be as bad as flash based youtube. We've heard reports of people streaming with P3 computers with like 256mb ram. Yeah... Also, as long as your internet is over 1MB, you're usually ok. But with the recent loads on the servers, not entirely sure how it will be on your end. I personally spent the extra 10 bucks to go on the premium server. (75 hours). I think it's worth it, but some other people don't feel it's worth it (so they use a free account). 

If registration is closed right now, wait another week or two to see what happens. (Admin is doing some reorganization). If not, send me a PM.

But for actual dling, ADV was probably the best, but it was a HORRIBLE community. I gave up after a while. It's very much about ePenis. The only other area might be isohunt or d-addicts. But I've never had good seeder experience with d-addicts.

You literally spent 3-6 days if it was seeded to dl it, then another 3-6 months trying desperately to reseed that shit. You were treated like shit if you didn't have a dedicated 25MBit or higher line.

while i don't condone hit and running, i think adc is one of those few sites whose community might benefit from it. from the seeder's standpoint anyway.

AznV.tv sounds good. But what about the quality? Is like regular Youtube? HD? Another thing, is there any way to "capture" the streaming and save it locally in the HDD? That would be really nice

Not exactly. 1080p movies are generally at 8-12 GB, but 720p usually sit at ~5 GB. At any rate, HD rips are worth every byte. You download ~8 GB but you have Full HD. With DVDs you download the same and you only have crappy 480p. And if the source is DVD, the rip is much much smaller. For example, the Higurashi movie by Piggymoo is only 1.52 GB.

Why they can't be an "Asian H264 Club" is beyond my comprehension. And on top of that there's people that actually bother to build the DVD versions of some things, like taking the fansubs and making everything in the DVD format (MPEG2, VobSub, and all that). What's the gain? Nothing. Not even quality as many fansub rips are of same quality as the source (or even better with filtering) or there's a BD of it. You just waste space, bandwidth and time. Maybe they are DVD players (the ones that hook to a TV) aficionados. Which is pointless anyway, as today there are several media players that play H264, like WDTV Live.

Asian movies... I don't know man. gotta try h33t, isohunt, etc. for dramas, there's dramawiki which directs you to the group's site. At that point, you DDL (usually). for example, withs2 is a good korean fansub group.

As far as I know, there's not purely "asian media" torrent community, although many movie/regular TV trackers have some asian content..

i suggest daddicts. The only problem is it's an open tracker so there are few seeders. It takes a few weeks to get some of those torrents.

I'd say aznv.tv is about 480 youtube level of quality. No, you cannot rip the stream. It's against the rules. (The admin actually has all the stuff hosted himself, so doing such a thing kills the bandwidth of the servers).

Another streaming option is Crunchyroll or Viiki. As for looking up subbers... that's another option vs d-addicts.

i gotta disagree somewhat with you.   yes; keeping a ratio can be challenging but there are tons of golden torrents (freeleech) to choose from and like bakabt getting in on a popular torrent early will help the ratio-ly challenged.  like just now i dl- eva 2.22 (dual layer-freeleech) i am burning the dvd and shall keep the 1080 rip on my mac.   i have also requested a few dead torrents which members have seeded.  like Sol Bianca etc.

i have found so much awesome & rare shit there it is ridiculous.  

as far as blu-ray rips- adc demands complete iso- a blu-ray movie can easily top over 25 gigs- so that would totally decimate most peoples ratios.

By the time I left ADC, free leech torrents weren't even worth bothering. If you didn't have a 1.0+ ratio, you were fucked. By the time you hopped on, you'd be sitting in something like 52 seeds vs 1-2 leechers if you were lucky. Then, you check who seeders are.... assholes with 3+ ratios and the like. You were lucky to get like 5MB of seeding done on a 5GB torrent. It was sad as hell. I even coordinated with another user to have him leech from me a certain torrent and I would leech a torrent that individual was going to dl. We got a whopping .1 ratio from helping each other out. <_< yay. But I left in probably approx 07 or 08. Dunno if it has changed since then. (Left with maybe a ratio at about .83 or something. I got fed up)

There's a reason why this site is underground. Not a perfect way to deal with things... but that's how the admin runs the show. (He pretty much keeps the rest of the users in the dark about many things until recent events... even the mods know little about the inner workings of the site). Though, we all know the servers are hosted in North America.

ADC (not ADV) now has a .5 ratio.   which is quite reasonable.  most people whom have ridiculous ratios are either living in Japan or South Korea or have their own seedboxes.  i am not saying it's perfect or as well seeded as Baka but it still remains the best choice for Asian movies.

i do remember in the past crunchyroll streaming quite a collection of Asian movies before they got all fucked up by going legit.

The .5 thing must be new since I left ADC. I agree though, they had a lot of rare stuff, but it wasn't a very nice community at the time. But beyond the ridiculous ratio thing, even the free leech torrents not helping at all, it was a crap place to try and get a ratio at the time. I dunno. Maybe I'm spoiled by the way things are here as well as JPS, but yeah. No leechers to fix ratio = suck. Even demonoid at least it was easy to keep a ratio.

The fact that this occurs, I care not. Why the hell should I bother with them? Without free leech, what moron in their right mind would bother dling that stuff? You're so screwed if you try. Their system is screwed up. It just continues to boost their "elite". And assumes everyone has access to high speed connections, dedicated lines, and dedicated desktops etc to use.
