Hmm ... maybe we should all chip in a get Jarudin a proper rice cooker???

BTW ~ nice job on those rolls.  Did you make the nori crispy by heating it up over the stove burner.  That is if your stove is an electric one, never did it over a gas stove.

What does it taste like?
Like .. sushi.
Basically it tastes like rice + vinegar + sugar + salt + nori + salmon .. cause that's why I used :P
When I smelled the nori I totally thought I was back in Japan.

You did cook that right? Lest i remind you of parasites...
The salmon wasn't THAT fresh .. just packaged filet from the supermarket >_>

Hmm ... maybe we should all chip in a get Jarudin a proper rice cooker???
I might buy a rice cooker if I decide I want to make sushi more often .. right now it's a bit of a whim.
Rice cookers are not so expensive, I'd be in a lot of trouble if I need a fundraiser for that ._. but thanks :)

Ah, I forgot that. I have a gas stove, yay me :3

I'll try to make tamagoyaki tomorrow, maybe make some sushi out of that. It really tastes awesome.

How is it even possible to burn rice?
Don't you normally boil it in water?

Because we can!

It is actually quite difficult to cook rice properly (my experience). You need a teflon coated pot for starters :)

You can only heat soup in that pot Jarudin  :D

Well, the other pot you can see there is teflon coated, but it doesn't have a lid, they are roughly the same size though .. so might work
I remember my mother always used to cook rice in a big stainless steel pot, she isn't a great cook but she never burned the rice afaik (though it wasn't omgitssosticky-sushirice), no idea how she does that .. women ._.

^ ah yes of course, a stainless steel pot with a thick bottom ...

I personally enjoy cooking and find it very ... entertaining :) You get quick results with little effort and make people happy, unlike software development  :D

Enjoy it :)

Just put enough water in it. VOILA! It won't burn.
If you want sticky use a sticky kind of rixe. There are hundreds of different rice types.
If you want to do sticky rice you can take remove some water, put less power to the stove(or tone the gas down) and keep a lid on the pot.

I tend to prefer porrige rice. It's just the tastiest.
