I have a folder called Anime - inside of which has all my anime.  That's about it.  Every now and then I will run a batch rename utiltiy on my Bleach folder to get rid of the extra stuff so it just says "Bleach 202" or whatever.

I really don't care who put it out or what format/quailty it was encoded in.

Just remember,  before you criticize someone, walk a mile in there shoes.  That way you are a mile away and have their shoes. :P

Originally,I'd be burning them to discs immediately once the torrent finishes.

Now I usually wait a bit before burning.

But this year I hardly have the time to burn stuff so I leave it on my terabyte drive in folders like [Kateikyo Hitman Reborn!] and just shove the corresponding anime in there.

Damn, your collection's tiny!  You've got some good choices, though.

..I've been thinking about splitting into "series", "ova", and "movies" directories.

sound like a great idea.

My current order is quite a mess....

And some other places where I put some anime because of the lack of the space in these two places :D
But I kind of keep most of the anime titles in utorrent sorted by tracker I got them from...em mostly box and off anime

I think we've all been around that idea some time during our archiving life. Imo, too much of a bother. This is how I arrange my files:

Stuff like One Piece, Bleach, Sengoku Basara, Naruto Shippuuden and Hitman REBORN doesn't have a group name since it's simply too busy to have four or five group names in the same folder name.

Everything that doesn't have a CRC in the filename, has a .sfv file. I'm kind of anal regarding corrupted files. Last night I set RapidCRC to check all of my files in my 1TB external. Luckily none were corrupted when I woke up this morning. I do these checks once in a while.

WHEN I organize my anime, it's by the standard:

Anime ---> Series ---> Seasons
                                OVA
                                Live Action

I used to have an annoying sig, but somehow it got lost in translation, so now I just have this boring text instead....

I used to just have a huge clusterfuck "Anime" folder.
Recently put in a bit of time to make "Anime: Rebirth".

Now I've got it into Movies, OVAs, Unwatched, Watched, and Watching.

In Soviet Russia, Files organize YOU!

Naw, I don't has much space on this Hard Drive. 50 Gigs stock, so that leaves, after music/games, around 10-13 gigs for Anime/Movies.  That's why after I watch it, I try to seed to AT LEAST .500      (To seem like nice guy, ya?) And then I delete it.

I organize them by the source/quality... so it looks like this:
(click to show/hide)

Also, I've written ~100 DVDs, all with LightScribe image on them from the respective anime. Took about 1hour/DVD, not including the time it took to design the cover and search for the image. I amaze myself with how much time I can dedicate to stupid stuff.

I also like how you organized them by quality, though I prefer an External Hard Drive to burning DVD's. They will be a thing of the past soon.

Some ppl might of seen my file system setup from my bot thats some times online. I hate it when its not organised, drives me fkn crazy.
Well on to the stupidity. Alot of people hate this method of sorting its to hard for them to find what they want.
Takes effort to find the year of the show they want.  >:(

Code: [Select]
Sun Microsystems Inc.   SunOS 5.11      snv_111b        November 2008
????@????:/storage/anime_series$ ls
AniDB_1971  AniDB_1978  AniDB_1985  AniDB_1992  AniDB_1999  AniDB_2006
AniDB_1972  AniDB_1979  AniDB_1986  AniDB_1993  AniDB_2000  AniDB_2007
AniDB_1973  AniDB_1980  AniDB_1987  AniDB_1994  AniDB_2001  AniDB_2008
AniDB_1974  AniDB_1981  AniDB_1988  AniDB_1995  AniDB_2002  AniDB_2009
AniDB_1975  AniDB_1982  AniDB_1989  AniDB_1996  AniDB_2003  AniDB_2010

AniDB_1977  AniDB_1984  AniDB_1991  AniDB_1998  AniDB_2005

Yep its sorted via year then lists the Animes Translated Name and its status [100%CRC] or [Ongoing].
Every file is renamed and CRC checked against the official CRC at AniDB.

In your case ('cause of your major seeding) it's needed I think so nothing wrong with that. Don't you have like 5-6 TB of stuff?
