Hello,

I'm about to change from ISP the coming week and was wondering If I will still be able to use this site.
I mean would my IP change and if it does, will I still be able to download stuff with my current ratio?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Cheers,

Vruminga

nothing (bakabt related) will change for you - everything will work fine.
we don't track ratio by ip but by your personal key that is stored in every torrent you download from bakabt while logged in.

You won't even have to do anything, other than install the new modem (if applicable). Your torrents are independent of your ISP.

Your IP will most likely change. Nothing else will. I'd advise you to leave it off for a day though, or at least until you notice that BBT registers no torrents uploading or downloading, before you start torrenting BBT stuff on your new ISP.

Most probably, 30 min would be enough.

I'd be amazed if you could switch ISPs in just 30 minutes... installing new hardware and everything... But yeah it probably would be enough. I said a day just to be safe.

I think he means how long he would not have to run his torrents for, before starting them up on the new ISP.

Nice,

Thanks all, for the replies. I thought that it would be IP related.
Something less to stress about.  :D

Now to sort all my mails from my old ISP to my new mail. Sigh

Cheers,

I know.

My point was that you would have to have your torrents stopped anyway while you install hardware for the new ISP.

So if you could get it back up in just 30 min, I would be amazed. Because you would have had to install the hardware in (less than) 30 minutes.

Now to sort all my mails from my old ISP to my new mail. Sigh

I never use ISP-provided email. How come you don't use free online mail like Hotmail, GMail, or Yahoo Mail?

GMail has an awesome import feature. I suggest using that.
