Using Multiple clients
« on: June 27, 2010, 12:48:42 PM »
I was wondering if using more than 1 client is allowed and is it a good idea to increase upload speed? I don't see it being mentioned anywhere so just hope I might get some answers.

You most likely won't get any extra speed from using multiple clients. You can't use different clients on the same torrent file without getting warned/banned.

Other than that you can use multiple torrent clients as long as you don't use them on the same torrent.

I don't recommend doing it though, extra things to set up and a risk of making a mistake without any real gain.

You might want to try the different clients out though, they work a bit differently and due to that one or the other might be better for your connection.

Keep in mind also that using multiple clients at once will put a bit extra load on your computer. In the end, the bottleneck is usually your Internet connection. Using a second client usually doesn't help, and may clog up your Internet connection instead.

In other words, do it only if you know what you're doing.

And searching the forums would definitely give you results on this topic, especially since I posted somewhere just yesterday that you can use more than one client at once.
