So I saw this today, and honestly it wasnt that bad.  I was impressed with the casting, all the main characters pulled off their roles quite accurately (although I was pissed that Zuku's uncle wasn't a cherubic fat guy)  However it was more a cgfest recap of the series, there was absolutely no character development, if you havent seen the cartoon then I doubt you'll remember why anything in the movie even happened much less a characters name.  On that note the visuals were amazing, the acting on a whole was mildly ridiculous, they made the elemental bending techs look more like silly dances than interactions with their respective element.

Also momo was called by name once...

The 4 elements "Dances" are actually different forms of Chinese martial arts. I have the animated series downloaded and it came with extras explaining the 4 styles.

yeah I know that, but whoever was in charge of choreography changed the "dances" from the originals and the majority of the time it just seemed out of place.

I concur, this barely suffices as a recap over being an actual movie.

Don't pay for 103 minute (?) recap

Why should I be retared?
Because I say that one of the fans said they don't name Momo?
If u base my retaredness on that.... I would look in the mirror and ask the question O.o
Since it's not me claiming it to be. Nor have I seen the movie to know. And as I said as well it's someone that said it, not me.
So now I'm wondering :x

I think that he confused the fanboy's statement for YOUR statement.

The acting was bad, the choreography was average, the plot was...well a recap, and the extras were retarded. I've seen Star Wars enough times to forgive great armies when they fail miserably (storm troopers have great aim except when on screen), however these fire guys either ran or stood still while getting clobbered. The water benders had a huge advantage -- the fire nation's ships were surrounded by water. Make water rise, when it reaches its peak make it fall, when its at its lowest make it rise. Repeat this and you find that you have a huge wave. The enemy ships are boned.

You obviously didn't note the fact that Shamalayan fucked up the story. The other water benders AND their super master teacher dude was like, "ZOMFG WTF BBQ~!" When they noted that "Ahng" was making a shit load of water move instead of water the size of those foam noodles. They aren't THAT powerful.

Earth benders. Absolutely stupid people. I will concur. Throw a chunk of dirt then cower in fear. "Eep! I didn't plan on them counterattacking me!" then you need like 6 guys to put up a wall the size of a car.

Also... Let's throw in a shitload of dialogue during a fight. It's ok, the bad guys will stand around and wait for you.

Did you not consider the rest of what I said on that subject.

They didn't need to be powerful.

True... but they needed 10 seconds to do the 20 or so odd movements to make the water noodle move a little bit. So it still doesn't seem like it works.

True... but they needed 10 seconds to do the 20 or so odd movements to make the water noodle move a little bit. So it still doesn't seem like it works.

If they had 50 people making those water noodles in sequence then it would be fine. Additionally, they had plenty of time to build up a large wave.

On the subject, in the show, they didn't have to spend 10 seconds doing a funny dance. It makes bending look more impressive, yes, but it seriously effects usefulness.

Shamalayan's Last Air Blunder... hopefully.

I hope so. I'm sure there will be a next one, lets hope it better (although it probably will be just as bad).

doubt it many cinemas in oz have stopped screening it after less than two weeks.  According to wiki its revenue is less than its budget.

I kinda feel like with 150 million dollars someone else could have made it better.

I just watched part of it on megavideo. Three thoughts come to mind.

Katara was kind of cute.
It's "Ayyng", not "ahhhnng".
That was absolutely pitiful. Talk about a bare-bones kind of movie. Find Aang. *zip* Captured! *zip* Free! *zip* Air temple. *ZIP* Water tribe. *zip* Fire nation arrives! *rolls eyes* Zero chance for development. I hope Shamalyaanananan get strangled in his sleep.

The pronunciation pissed me off not due to the fact it was "wrong" in comparison to the original... but the fact that it wasn't even consistent in the movie.

The Epic fail of this movie makes me laugh and reading your comments of how epic fail it was makes me laugh more.
