I hope so. I'm sure there will be a next one, lets hope it better (although it probably will be just as bad).

doubt it many cinemas in oz have stopped screening it after less than two weeks.  According to wiki its revenue is less than its budget.

"Box office

The Last Airbender opened with $16 million, which includes $3 million from its midnight showing, and earned $16.7 million the following day.[61] The film ranked fifth for a Thursday opening at $16,350,000.[62] After bringing in an estimated $40.5 million over the three-day, Fourth of July weekend, its Monday gross brought its four-day total to an estimated $53.2 million and its five day total at an estimated $70.5 million. 54% of its gross was from 3D presentations at 1,606 screens.[63] In its second weekend the film fell 59% compared to its first, and grossed an estimated $16.6 million marking M. Night Shyamalan's most financially successful release since his 2004 film, The Village.[64][65] Opening overseas in 1,205 sites, the film grossed an estimated $10 million, $8 million of which was from 870 sites in Russia, making it the number one movie there.[66]" -Wiki

The pronunciation pissed me off not due to the fact it was "wrong" in comparison to the original... but the fact that it wasn't even consistent in the movie.

Consistency didn't bother me. It was that Shamalnanan just fucked up nearly every aspect of the series. No story. No comedy. No Suki. NO SUKI?! What the hell was he thinking?!? Not only was she cute, she was a played a very important roll in the series... not the mention Sokka's love interest in the later chapters.

I mean, really. Did he even watch the series? *rant*

Never followed the series. Maybe because I watched the beginning part which was targeted at kids and highly obnoxious. I hear the later was catered to older people though.

Yeah, pretty much. First season was light and fluffy, second and third were much better in every manner.

Example of a joke in season 2.

Group is flying around on Appa looking for a temple in the desert.
Toph (blind earth bender): "I see it! I see it!"
Sokka: "Where? WHERE?!"
Toph: *turns around, grinning madly. Waving her hand in front of her eyes*
Sokka: *frown*

^funny as hell

Of course Shamalananan wouldn't know about things that are funny! What a dick.

toph sokka were such a good combo for humour in the last two seasons esp the 2nd.

Also, I think there was childish elements (esp Aangs jokes) throughout the series. But you quickly grow to like it because the plot and characters are so good so the childish elements provide some light comic relief.

I just marathoned book one after watching the movie. seeing as the movie was about 10 hours shorter I can't complain about the condensing and leaving out parts, but it really needed some humor.
but what can you do. Sham just doesn't have a sense of humor.

I hope he does something with her >_>

I think this movie is suppose to cover book 1 ... Hense the reason why no Suki.  She doesn't come into play until Book 2 after Sokka met the Northern Water Tribe's Princess.

Evidently, he became interested in the franchise after seeing his kids watch it. As for your question, hopefully not much since it could explain why he failed so hard.

Actually he meets here before the Northern princess, but only briefly. the majority of their romance does come after. But the movie wouldn't be long enough to have Sokka meet both girls without him looking like a playboy jerk.

Meh. Right now I hope movies 2 and 3 get canceled, I don't think I could handle watching the rest of such an amazing series get screwed over by one dumb-as-fuck director. The movies without comedy is like a fish out of water. Why is Sokka even IN the movie if he can't joke? He was the comedian... without that, all he can do is mope and whine.

Gah I'm done posting about it. Pisses me off to much. Shyamalanan, meet bullet. kthx

my favorite joke in the series was "My first girlfriend turned into the moon." "Dude, that's rough."

Someone needs to take a page from the movie "The Incredible Hulk" and just say... "Scratch that original shit. It's garbage. Let's start over."

but they dont have half a dozen other multimillion dollar movies from the people who made avatar, where as the remake of hulk was after spidermans, xmens, and ironman also if im not mistaken. Not a single one of those marvel movies didnt make fistfuls of money. And so the lesson learn was invest in decent actors or at least 1 or 2 big names to carry the movie.

I honestly cant vision a studio giving someone the budget to do it properly after getting such poor reception with this.

I understand that it's a bad movie, but why do you want the director dead?

That's true too. AFAIK, the guy who wrote V for Vendetta and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was really annoyed at the way that the comics were transferred as a movie. Hulk is probably the only exception. Though, just trying to give some false hope to the die hard fans.

Aye, he was. One of the men that I work with is related to him (Alan Moore is his uncle I think he said?) and he's been pretty upset with the way most of his comics have been transferred to film.

Gasp! Does that mean, no further live-action Dragon Ball movies?!

I'm relieved.

Am I the only person to had heard, 1 year ago or whatever, about "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (Nickelodeon show), before they announced "Avatar" (blue-skinned people), and was subsequently confused?

I remember reading about the "Avatar movie" and rushing to youtube to watch trailers only to discover these blue-skinned guys, and no mention of the Fire Nation or anything I associated "Avatar" with.

Also, is the font for the word "Avatar" (blue-skinned people) the same font used during the opening sequence of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (Nickelodeon show)?
