Personally, I have a separate computer with 5TB worth of HD hooked directly to my big screen with a HDMI cable.

You can get pretty long ones too. I have a 5m one so I can use my mbp from across the room.

Hm I was wondering, if my TV is older and won't let me hook my laptop to it how do I burn animes to dvd?

I've never burned a show to a dvd before. I know my dvd player is a JVI XV-S45 CD/DVD player, and I also have a PS2 for a dvd player.

Will the animes with subtitles play with the subtitles on these or will it just play the RAW version? Also do they have to be .avi like danworth was converting them to or does it just depend on your dvd player?

danworth:
awesome tyvm for the help guys! its working smoothly :D

Depends on how you go about doing it. If you convert it to hardsubs, then the subtitles will definitely display. However, DVD players are capable of using softsubs (and multiple sub tracks for that matter).
