Inception

(click to show/hide)The reason Don kept his top and didn't leave it alone every other time was because he was in a dream. He couldn't leave it there. Now that he's in the real world, there's no doubt the top will be there when he comes back to it.

There is a HUGE problem with the top though.
(click to show/hide)In the earlier parts, it is explained that a totem should be unique to the individual to know whether or not you're in reality. The top is NOT his. It's his wife's original totem which she locked away when in the dream world. Thus, this totem should be void in the first place. Wasn't it also explained that for the wife, it was supposed to spin forever when in a dream?
Also, I don't fully recall, but how many times does the top actually fall? We see the top being swooped up a lot, but how many times does it actually fall. (Quite a few times it's just sitting somewhere, we don't see it fall)
Also, does anyone else realize that all the individuals we see with a totem, they're all connected to some type of "game"? There's quite a few individuals without a totem either.

This is one of those movies where you generally need a few watches to figure out everything.

I got in my second watch today, and I feel like I'm doing pretty well at understanding what went on. There are layers and layers of things you can interpret if you wish, though.

I can think of two off the top of my head:
(click to show/hide)* right after Mal stabs Adriane (or however you spell her name)
* when Cobb's in the bathroom... I think that was after testing out the sedative from the Chemist?

Sorry about this. I completely forgot to spoiler it. Thanks Xiong.

I really really enjoyed this movie, just saw it last night, very very reminiscent of Dark City and the Matrix.
I only have one major flaw with the movie:
(click to show/hide)Why oh why did they do the Inception on an Airplane? Some turbulence and the inner-ear-falling-reflex-thing would have kicked in and the whole thing would have been undone.
I also have a minor problem with the time-dilation thing; I'm more than willing to accept that dreams go faster than reality, no problems, but dreams in a dream going faster than a dream? and then dreams inside dreams inside dreams going faster still? I'm sorry but there is a limit to what the brain can process and it's not 300x reality.
As for the spinning top:
(click to show/hide)I only remember it falling twice, but I can't remember when, there was also a part, fairly early, where we didn't see the top fall when we should have because the action moved a Di Caprio picked it up.
I was also under the impression that Di Caprio was only a few months at most on the run, that it was basically the one before the opening watanabe job that screwed him over. So the kids should be a little bigger, but it's still believable.
