There is a HUGE problem with the top though.

Also, I don't fully recall, but how many times does the top actually fall? We see the top being swooped up a lot, but how many times does it actually fall. (Quite a few times it's just sitting somewhere, we don't see it fall)

Also, does anyone else realize that all the individuals we see with a totem, they're all connected to some type of "game"? There's quite a few individuals without a totem either.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

I'm not one for complicated plots or hard-to-understand movies so I'm wondering if I'll even get something out of watching this. :D

This is one of those movies where you generally need a few watches to figure out everything.
I got in my second watch today, and I feel like I'm doing pretty well at understanding what went on.  There are layers and layers of things you can interpret if you wish, though.

Also, I don't fully recall, but how many times does the top actually fall? We see the top being swooped up a lot, but how many times does it actually fall. (Quite a few times it's just sitting somewhere, we don't see it fall)
I can think of two off the top of my head:

I really really enjoyed this movie, just saw it last night, very very reminiscent of Dark City and the Matrix.

I only have one major flaw with the movie:

As for the spinning top:

was a great movie, I believe you really have to pay attention or you will lose what is going on. how some people like to talk during a movie, or make fun of stuff going on. you can't in this movie or you may get lost.

I remember someone telling me how you shouldn't leave to go to the bathroom during the movie. Looking back, I can tell how missing even a couple of minutes you would miss out on something major.

I thought it was a great film, definitely one worth going to the cinema for.
Although I do find myself agreeing with another poster here that it would have been better if they got rid of all the action scenes :P

If you guys enjoyed this film I highly recommend Memento by the same director. Brilliantly done, more realistic (I guess you could argue against that), and maybe its just me but I got more of a psychological mind-kick out of it.

Realism is not an important aspect for a movie like Inception.

I got my second viewing today and kept in mind things about the totem; so for what it's worth I think that the totem is valid as the only other person who knows the totem is Mol and she's dead which could make it difficult for her to trick Cobb. However going through the film the second time I actually think it's his children's faces that are his true totem as he never sees their faces when he brings them into a dream and no-one but Caine's character would know what they look like.

We see the top tumble twice; we also don't see it tumble twice; first when Saito interrupts Cobb after Page's character jumps into his dream and the second time is at the very very end, but it wobbles where as the dream top keeps perfectly straight.

I think the three totems we see (the top, dice and chess piece) are game related as it's very easy to get a hold of a game piece no matter where in the world you are and they have the added bonus of being cheap. The other characters would have totems it's just that the audience doesn't get to see them as it doesn't add to the plot.

Yeah, because Mal is already dead he is the only person alive that knows the exact weight distribution of the top so that makes it a totem.
Also about the children's faces,
