that color blindness test is horrible. the colors are all over the place - smearing into each other.
so i wouldn't be surprised if you see a 25 in the second picture or an 8 in the last one.

Ahh... these tests, I've seen all from 1 through 50 so the test is pretty useless to me.

  • I have only these words
I pass.  Got them all... I had a professor do this back in college.  And we had some pretty suprising results in the 250 person lecture hall.
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

If you see colors, then you're not colorblind. It seems odd there are tests like this. Most people can figure it out very quickly.

Colour blindness doesn't mean you can't see colours.

I should know, I'm colour blind...

Deuteranomaly (most common - 6% of males, 0.4% of females):[18]  Having a mutated form of the medium-wavelength (green) pigment. The medium-wavelength pigment is shifted towards the red end of the spectrum resulting in a reduction in sensitivity to the green area of the spectrum. Unlike protanomaly the intensity of colors is unchanged. This is the most common form of color blindness, making up about 6% of the male population. The deuteranomalous person is considered "green weak". For example, in the evening, dark green cars appear to be black to Deuteranomalous people. Similar to the protanomates, deuteranomates are poor at discriminating small differences in hues  in the red, orange, yellow, green region of the spectrum. They make errors in the naming of hues in this region because the hues appear somewhat shifted towards red. One very important difference between deuteranomalous individuals and protanomalous individuals is deuteranomalous individuals do not have the loss of "brightness" problem.

Blindness means you can't see it.

I'm talking about color blindness.

Meaning I'm talking about people who can't see colors. Not people who see colors different from other people.

Not people who see colors different from other people.
That is what colorblindness in humans commonly refers to. Usually people referred to as colorblind do see colors, but the color they see is different from what the majority of people see. People who actually cannot see any color are far rarer to my knowledge.

I got them all right, but I still second this point. The test is a poorly done one.

If you see colors, then you're not colorblind. It seems odd there are tests like this. Most people can figure it out very quickly.

Let's dissect this.

If you see colors - Yes I do see colours

then you're not colorblind - That's what they told me after my eye test, that I'm colour blind. The army agrees it seems. They classified me as colour blind too when I enlisted.

It seems odd there are tests like this. - Why would it be odd?

Most people can figure it out very quickly. - I'm one of the 10% of men who can't. That's why this test exist.

I could see both numbers in the last one, so I thought it was an 8. Do I get bonus points?

Maybe what you meant to say was that colour blindness as a term is misleading. That what the condition is, is actually a sort of colour deficiency most of the time. (Arguing semantics?) This point certainly didn't come across very clearly in your first post because you say you don't understand why the test exist at all...

That seems to imply you believe, that unless you can't see colours at all, everybody should be able to spot the numbers.

Color blindness = inability to distinguish differences in hue.

^ definition as it's applied to humans. Mostly genetic, and affects men more than women.
(sources: thefreedictionary.c om, wikipedia, MeSH)

Definition used for full color bindness is Monochromacy. Perhaps that's what you meant?

My sisters partially colourblind. She can't tell the difference between reds and browns, or yellows and greens. Plus a few other random colours. Its led to interesting arguments with her. :/

I could see all of them but I would mess up a a little on which number they were. The 2s and 7s were easy but I messed up the 8s and 5s and 3s and 8s a couple of times.
