Throttle downloads in utorrent?

(1/2) > >>

Ambrae:
Hiya,

I'm having a bit of trouble with utorrent, I want to throttle my downloads so that they download at the same speed as they upload... but the program is completely ignoring what I'm asking  =/

I'm not sure what's wrong, can anyone help?

Weird isn't it?? I tried reloading it, but it didn't change a thing...

Duki3003:
Try using two instances of a client, and throttle the entire client.

Edit: throttling your speed is not a bad way to go, but consider this - if you overdo it, you'll fall behind other peers and after awhile you'll have nothing to upload (that others don't have)...

Ambrae:
Hi, thanks for the answer!

I looked through it, and honestly, I'd be okay with just one instance of utorrent, where I throttle the entire client to seed indefinitely with no upload limit and just a download one, but I am just not sure how to set it up.

Duki3003:
Same as you try to do for individual, right click tray icon - Download Limit - select your desired speed...
Although I'm unsure as why would uTorrent ignore per torrent speed limitation (works for me just fine)...

Perhaps try to update it to latest stable release or at least reinstall?

n2m:
Check the "apply rate limit to uTP connections" checkbox at the Bandwidth Preference (leave the "transport overhead" unchecked).
If the checkbox is not checked, any dl/ul through uTP will ignore the limit you configured and goes at full speed.
