i think much like anything else you are primarily judging "american chocolate" as the mass produced varieties. Without question there is going to be small candy places that make ridiculously tasty chocolate. Just like there is anything else

Very true, there is a nice little local place in Key West, FL. that I hit up every summer when i'm down there.  They have ridiculously good fudge!

Mind giving me the name if you know it so I can check it out when I go to see grandparents again? ^^"

I think it is called Sweets of Paradise, the fudge is really good, but the key lime pie is not as good as Key lime Pie Co. I can't find a better place for Key lime pie on the island than that place.  I always go to the one at the end of Duval street.  It is a great snack for walking back towards to pier.  ;D
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)

Saying American chocolate tastes bad, and you're only really talking about the big name brands like Hersheys, Nestle, and Mars...well thats like saying American hamburgers are bad because you are basing is off of McDonald's, Burger King and White Castle. There's gotta be hundreds upon hundreds of smaller companies within the US that also make their own brand of chocolate that is delicious. I wouldn't go around saying American chocolate is bad because you don't like Kit Kats. ;)

That taste of America chocolate you are complaining about is from Hershey's. They also have always made the chocolate for the Marc candy company.

Notable exceptions to Hershey's are the Ghirardelli chocolate company of San Francisco, and Guittard. Neither uses the same processes that Hershey's uses, and so produce different flavors to their chocolates.

Most of the small boutique chocolatiers in America do not process their own cocoa beans, and so have the flavor of chocolate of whichever mass producer makes their stock. They usually purchase chocolate in 10 pound bars. They look like a regular chocolate bar, just super-sized.

There is a movement in America that is doing for chocolate what has been done with wines, or coffee, varietal chocolates. Each little region produces beans that are not mixed with beans from all over the planet, but are kept separate. This has the effect of not having a standardized flavor.

Be grateful that sugar and not human blood is used in the making of chocolate today, as it was done by the Aztecs originally.

Bitter chocolate must die no exceptions.

Any chocolate that is filled with powder cream is my kind of chocolate.

Some finnish chocolates are really good too but don't bother with the regular mass production brands usual line. Sure they are good compared to swedish or american chocolate brands but there are better ones out there.

So in the middle of eating Toffifee, possibly the best chocolate nougat ive ever had...and ive come to realize, Why doesnt the U.S have delicious chocolate vareties like other countries! Yea, theres many different mix's from american companies but they get old so fast *opinion*
When i first tried brazilian chocolate it was epicly awesome...but now German chocolate...is even better! xept the chocolate covered marsh mellows with the wafer base, u all can have those.

American chocolate sucks compared to Europe & other places. grrr.

OH LA LA I KNOW! I hate it! I cry when someone gives me American chocolate, IT'S HORRIBLE!

YES! Blood chocolate sounds delicious, I think the two might go together rather well. Dark chocolate and blood...
*drools*
*realises he's drooling all over the keyboard*
Oh, damn, I better get something to wipe that clean.

PS. Why is that americans always shorten my name Joon? Is that where you think the syllable ends?

I know! That's why I wonder why they do that.
I can't really read Joon either. Is it suppposed to be jo-on or joon. The former would mean "it already is" in Finnish and second just doesn't twist around in my mouth.

*whistles innocently*
Well I chose Andu because doin-u was just too easy to pick on and kura means mud in Finnish so it sounds disrespectful saying Kuran(which would translate to "something mud owns").

Hmm...that made me realize...even if my name gets broken up, It steel sounds fine (People either call me brown, which makes me happy, or master, which makes me proud :D)
What really pisses me off, though, is when I'm gaming and someone calls me "BrownMasterFIVE" over the mic. I rage at that shit.

Anyway, back on topic:

I...hate Milk Duds. I'm sorry...they just make me nauseous for some reason. Probably that name. Ugh.
