Have you ever sold your collection before?
« on: August 07, 2010, 11:20:12 AM »
Title says it all.

I'm currently in need of cash and I have to resort to selling my beloved Manga collection >.> It won't fetch me exactly a good sum too since it'll most likely be sold @ half or a third of the original purchased price.

So I was wondering if any of you @ BakaBT have ever sold your beloved Manga/Anime or any type of collection for fast cash.

I sold my comic book (not manga) collection a few years back. It was around 1000 comics, with alot of first editions. I bought a car with the money I got.

I also sold my baseball card collection for a nice chuck of cash.

I was thinking the same thing.

It's normal trade in value, with none of the trade in bonus's then they slash an extra 20% off the final trade-in value

Even though I've bought a few manga I didn't really like, I'm not going to sell them.  I'm the type that purchases from used bookstores but never sells back.

Ah, the digital age is so nice. :)

no its just how those places work, if they gave you like 30 bucks for a recent game they wouldnt make enough money. Thats why you dont sell games to them you trade them if anything

30$ for even one sold ps3 game is quite low tho, well compared to swedish prices.

And you get pretty much nothing for 12$, so, big price difference?

I have a hard time letting go of all my stuff, so I've never really sold anything big.

If i don't want it, then I'd rather give it away to someone who i know which needs it.

And nor have i ever had a real urge to get something special, when it comes to anime and manga, then i just download it or read it through the iphone, some games can be pirated, while at the same time i can still afford all of the games which i really want.

I've got a huge pile of stuff which has just been in my room for ages, i do never use it, but i so don't want to sell it, because its my stuff.

I will for example never touch my silly games collection, never use that electric guitar, nor all the expensive branded skateboarding parts, but i cant let it go.

Thats about 63 Swedish Krona according to a online currency calculator. 6 books.
