My grandparents have comcast, and they said theyve had alot of issues *theyre in miami* like connection drop-outs. They also have phone & tv service through comcast, and last time i was there the connection actually died for 3 days after a light storm.

but florida sucks,

on a seperate note how nice to bring up the 250 gig limit i think there was a bunch of posts on this like a year or 2 ago when it was first put in place. I can burn through 1500gb in like a week so im glad im rocking my 25/25 fios line (runs more like 30/25)

Charter claims they have a limit.  While I don't monitor my traffic, I'm fairly certain I'm well above it, and haven't gotten any trouble.

I dislike most ISPs as much as anyone, but they don't have unlimited infrastructure.  Cable companies have been getting hit hard as people stop using cable tv and landlines (for those who do phone as well).

The money that their customers pay should go to expanding the infrastructure (well, at least part of the money), just to the pockets of various CxOs.

I pay ~29EUR/month for my 200/200/80/80 line, and I am sure that my ISP actually tries to expand their infrastructure because if they won't, then another ISP will offer a faster connection or a lower price. They are rolling out fiber (to homes) quite fast now. Of course it sucks for the people who still have to use DSL, but the highest plan will max out their connection capability (DSL, unlike fiber, is quite limited).

Now, it is written in my contract that the line (international traffic) is oversubscribed 1:30, but in practice I have never experienced such a slowdown, especially when I had the DSL connection, now I am not sure, since I do not keep my connection saturated all the time the way I did my DSL upload.

You jest. The only real bottleneck for internet speed is the last few meters, between the curb and your home if you will. The big tubes of the internet aren't getting clogged in the least.

Tis true.
The back bone of my province and indeed country is pure fibre. And there are plenty of blacklines (fibre lines or others that are up but no traffic is being transmitted with them), the backbone of the country has fibre lines that reach 1TB/s and I'm sure the province is similar.
