Without reading this thread:

I have heard of people being d/c by comcast for exceeding this, but in every case were talking about at least doubling this bandwidth in three consecutive months. And all they did was switch ISP. Until you get a letter, I'd pay no attention.
Business Class Comcast is the best choice for heavy bandwidth users that are stuck with Comcast. The downside? 10% or 20% more money and possibly a contract. Once you go that way, you'll never go back. Unlimited bandwidth, faster speed, fixed IP, no restrictions and all ports open.

I have all that anyway with Virgin :P

Only drawback is Virgin have a "fair use" policy which caps me well under my limit for 5 hours if I download/upload too much during the peak period, so I capped utorrent during these hours to run close to the line, and problem solved ^_^

As soon as I got Comcast Business Class my connection spiked and I was able to download and upload and still surf the internet as if nothing has happened. I've done over 7TB of download and uploading the first two months, over 7TB to be accurate and I recorded it and waited for Comcast to give me a call. They never called. The lady said "It's for your business, we don't care what you do with it". Lol!

Ok, that's pretty neat. I never run that high anyway tbh, mostly just uploads  ::)

It's taken me about 6 months to get through ~100gig of videos. I don't understand how people get through such vast quantities.

I went to the Comcast use page and found that I was doing a combined download/upload(seed) of over 350GB in November 2010, so I checked their pricing on Business Internet, since I have internet only.
Business Internet is only $5 more then Residential Internet, with no use cap, for the same speed service, over the same cable.

The only drawback is a 1, 2 or 3 year plan, rather then month to month service.

Comcast Residential:
Comcast Customer Central (Name and password required)
Users & Settings
High-Speed Internet Data Usage
View Details

If you want to do a LOT of torrenting, especially full-time seeding, then the Business Internet is the way to go.

In uTorrent 2.20, the new Preferences "Transfer Cap" page says I was seeding 200GB and downloading 80GB over a 30 day time period.
That doesn't take into account DDLs done separate from uTorrent though.

It says I have a 250GB cap but I've gone over it multiple times and never been warned/informed.

Oh silly America, having this problems.
In Slovenia (Europe .........), we have unlimited bandwith.
Sadly, not that cheap as in Romunia, but still. We pay ~70 dollars a month for digital TV, 2 phone numbers, internet (12Mbps/1Mbps).
Well, can't wait for optic fibre connections.

Bandwith >;o

I have a cap. It's 30 gigabytes. A day. Up.

My download speed is unlimited.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

I live in australia so by default it = crappy connection

For $70AU/month i get 8mbit and (proper) unlimited downloads. if i could keep track of my daily i would, though i havent thrashed it. Seeing as bakabt has Freeleech im testing out what i can do, yesterday i did around 30gb at best. Probably could do 200gb without too much effort. The ISP im with has ADSL2+ (up 24mbits) but only 500gb plan for $90AU, at that speed i ccould hit that easy, shoulda gone for theirunlimited wheni had the chance

34.73mbps * 24 hours = 375.08 GB

Still, in theory I have "up to" 80mbps upload to other countries. The speed drops to ~10mbps between 18:00 and 23:00, probably the ISP is a bit overloaded then.

Wow that is truely terrible price wise, and I thought where I was (UK) the prices were high and "up to" means "lucky if you get half this".  Moving to Aus in Feb, seems like the only place in the world I could've chosen with a worse deal for internet  :-\

That's awesome... but your stats don't really reflect all that speed at all either... what else are you uploading?!

Torrents that are not on bakabt maybe?

For example. I seed almost every episode of every show that I watched this season, as most of them are ont on BBT (yet), I seed the regular ones, for example, Episode 1 of Ika Musume by Underwater has a ratio of ~530. If BBT accepts Ika Musume by Underwater, I will seed that torrent too. Shakugan no Shana S episode 3 by [SS-Eclipse] has a ratio of ~1400 (381MB DL, 526GB UL).

The problem with BBT is not that I don't seed, but that others do not want to download from me all that much. If I stop every other torrent, my upload drops to usually less than 1MB/s. I still try to seed as many BBT torrents as I can (obviously I will not downlaod or seed a show that I do not want to watch though), but I am running out of disk space and will have to move those shows to tape and I will not be able to seed from the tape.
