Romance/Tsundere anime
« on: August 15, 2010, 12:46:19 PM »
I'm looking for anime with these features:

A romance anime with comedy.
A tsundere female lead character. ( it should be a main character and not a side one )
A definite ending where the romance is resolved. It shouldn't be a harem ending, the male protagonist and the female ( tsundere ) lead get together in the end. I don't mind if the anime is in the harem genre but the ending shouldn't be one where the male lead has yet to choose among more than one girl.
I prefer happy endings.

What I mean by tsundere here is where the female lead at first doesn't like the male protagonist and she is cold/abusive to him. Later on she develops feelings for him but dosn't want to admit to herself or to others. In the end there is confession of love or something along those lines.

Note: I don't mind what other themes the anime has ( action/adventure/supernatural etc) as long as it has the above features.

Anime I have watched:

Love Hina
Zero no tsukaima
Toradora
shakugan no shana
Ginban kaleidoscope
Ai yori aoshi
Special A
Inukami
Lovely complex
Mahou sensei negima ( manga only )
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu
Saint tail

Anime in my watch list or download queue ( you guys are free to comment on these ):

Hayate no gotoku
Bakemonogatari
Mayoi Neko Overrun
Gunparade March
Spice and wolf
Tsukuyomi moon phase
Marmalade boy
B gata h kei
karin ( chibi vampire )
kaze no stigma
suzuka
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
kannagi
Ah My Buddha
Mars Daybreak
The sacred blacksmith
Myself Yourself
True Tears

Thanks in advance

EDIT:

Thanks guys for all your suggestions, they were very helpful. I would like add something to what I said about tsundere before. Of course I do prefer the typical tsundere female leads (as naru in love hina and louise in zero no tsukaima ) but it isn't easy to find all the features you want every time. So I would say some qualities of a tsundere character might suffice, such as developing feelings for the male lead and not being able to admit them. In general I like female leads that give a feel of tsundere characters even if they aren't the ideal type. Another imporatant thing is that as I mentioned before the romance should be resolved and the male lead ends up with this kind of female charcter. I hate anime where throughout the series you get the feeling that a certain couple will end up together and in the end something else happens.

Hayate no gotoku - if you want romance, look somewhere else. If you want comedy, then this will work.
Bakemonogatari -  Great show. There is some romance, but I would hesitate to call it a romance show. There is a tsundere type char here also.
B gata h kei - Pretty funny, but I dont like the premise of it. Some romance.
True Tears - This was a good show until the end. If I said why I didnt like the ending it would spoil it however.
Myself Yourself - Prolly worth your time.

+1 to Bakemonogatari, Mayoi Neko Overrun (though I think the manga is better), Marmalade Boy (not much tsun in there but really good!), Suzuka (but I recommend the manga since that goes beyond the anime), Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora, Myself; Yourself, True Tears.

Hmm... I suppose try Candy Candy, Lamune, Magicano.

And School Days... It is kinda romance and the main character does end up with one girl  ::)

You should definitely check out Ookami-san no Shichinin no Nakamatachi. It's currently airing and it's pretty much spot-on with what you're looking for in terms of the whole tsundere main character/doesn't like the guy but is developing feelings for him stuff.
Only 6 episodes out so far, though.

P.S. lol'd at the School Days thing.

Cross Game - Romance, Comedy, tsundere female lead, resolved ending - fits your demand :P

At first I didn't want to watch it, because of the sports genre (didn't watch any other sports anime except Cross Game), but I absolutely loved it and watched all 50 eps in two days. So don't pass it off just because of the sports...like I did at first. >.<

ROFL! :D

I would recommend Kaichou wa Maid-sama (though its currently airing so its not completed yet, 18 eps out right now)
I think Kimi ni Todoke would fit to, maybe XD
Peach Girl is a good romance show to, should fit your taste.. perhaps :P
Take a look at Itazura na Kiss is you haven´t seen it... pretty good romance show that has a nice resolved ending

those are the one´s I can think of right now anyway...

Of course, the same old recycled joke doesn't get old after the thousandth time, good job it wasn't.

You should use it more often imho

Gunparade march, Bakemonogatari, Suzuka and Karin all have what you're looking for

Mayoi Neko overrun...is horrible imo (also there are only 2 scenes in the entire series that have the potential to progress the romance, and they are completely ignored in later episodes...)
kaze no stigma sorta has what you're looking for, but there isnt really any resolution to the very minimal romance
^only ones on your DL list I've seen...
The sacred blacksmith <-on my DL list as well :D

And these ones fit your request nicely:
Full metal panic (hafta watch all 3)
Mai-hime-not one of my favorites, but has what you're lookin for
Sola-not 100% sure if the ending matches your criteria...
Demonbane <-not considered a romance, but it's there
The Melody of Oblivion <-not considered a romance, but it's there
Gigantic Formula
