Havoc10K:
I did, and I find on BBT from what is licensed only stuff that companies don't fuss about, everything else is being removed usually, I do not see what is your problem actually.

I don't see a point in converting from 480p to 720p
you could have taken a 720p release and simply replace the audio source or add audio source to 720p mkv, then just check it it's accurate, much easier and faster.

It takes me about 5 or 6 minutes to convert one file. It's no big deal for me. Plus I don't have to do anything but put it in my converter an walk away. (and if I do walk away put it on high priority) And Come back two hours later and I have about 50 to 60 ep's converted dependent on file size and length. Not to mention as I said, PS3's can not play MKV files at all without the media server. In which my sister doesn't have access to due to the fact she lacks internet capabilities. So in turn I HAVE to convert them in order to put them on a DVD+R.

If I want to rip a *ahem* "non-encrypted" 24m DVD episode it takes around an hour, and re-encoding the 1080p Disappearance raw took me several hours IIRC. I wouldn't think transcoding 720p material would be any faster than a DVD, but I'll have to try PSMS sometime and see if it'll play back in real time.

If you have a good processor on your CPU there won't be any trans-coding problems. For example PMS takes your cores and runs it off those. You can choose how many you want it to run off of. For example, I run off 8 cores. Which is pretty much guaranteeing no fuck ups. (My old CPU had 2 cores and... it sucked. lol Which was the CPU I had trouble running said movie.)
Also, if you want to put codecs in you have to go to the system file of PMS to do so. For example, I put CCCP into my PMS and configured my personal video/audio/internet settings to my liking. I've also noted that PMS works a lot better with the Slim PS3. (I just bought one.)
I guess I'll explain why right quick for you.
PS3 Slim w/ PMS- Fast Forward and rewind actually work and work well for Anime.
PS3 FATTY W/ PMS- Fast Forward and rewind kinda... don't work well on Anime.
Both work fine on movies. Which when I first started using PMS I had no problems with cause I didn't have Anime on my CPU.
(If you are curious why one would fast foreword on Anime, To skip Intro's.)

I didn't know HotD had a dub, though. Would it be correct to assume you're streaming it? It doesn't look like a dub has been released in hard-copy form stateside yet.
