How to rip only 1 part of the DVD movie?

I want to rip an opening song of a DVD movie. Is there a specific software for this job?
For anime lover, you will understand what I'm talking about. Every anime movie has opening song.
Note: This is a DVD format. It has BUP, IFO and VOB file.

I may be wrong, but unless the song is on a separate title in the DVD structure, you can't rip the song by itself. You'd have to rip the vob of the movie/episode that contains the song, and then use software like VirtualDub to cut out the section you need.

You can set the range when creating the .d2v in dgindex (assuming you're familiar with avisynth etc...). The audio is demuxed(demultiplexed) also so if you're only after the audio, then you're good to go at this point...

If it's the song with the entire accompanying video you're after, one should be able to import the .d2v, even with the .d2v directly pointing to the dvd (NOT recommended, STRONGLY recommended to rip the dvd (VOB etc) to hdd first...), to an encoding app with an avisynth file (.avs)...

Also, with dgindex, there's also the simple option to demux only the audio (File > Demux Audio-Only Stream) and the track will be generated in the same directory as the source stream and can be processed however you like from that point on (provided you ripped the dvd to hdd first)

You can also demux the video to .m2v from the VOB in dgindex, but I usually don't (If I have the VOB(s) on hdd I simply point to it(them) with the .d2v...).

Disclaimer: It's been a while I encoded something so something of above might be wrong, but the range thing is something I HAVE used extensively (last with Risky&Safety) so that part should be accurate...

Anyway, you'll want to look for an OST (original soundtrack) of the series. Perhaps even a single, if you're looking for the "TV version" of the title song (usually includes "TV-size" in the song title). A rip will be lower quality and otherwise imperfect, unless you actually need the sound from the clip for a specific reason.
