Seagate..the 2nd shittiest HDD manufacturer.

Before thinking your big new HD is having problems, check the Sata controller for being current with its Bios.  Bought a couple of new 2T HD's and without checking my own controller, installed them and tried to use them. Gave me all kind odd write errors.  I was at a point of thinking I had a couple of failing drives.  Did a bit more checking and found the issue with the controller itself.  Did a update and the disks have been well behaved since then.

I ended up buying a Samsung 2TB G3 Station..and so far so good. It took me 16 hours though to copy all the data from the Seagate (which had a whopping 75 Reallocated sectors).

So far so good with this samsung.
