At night for me.  I am not sleeping with all the dirt I accumulated during the day.  Also you sweat the least when you sleep, so that isn't exactly something to worry about.  If you are sweating a lot when you sleep then you need to turn on the A/C.

Showering before bed is the better option.

If you shower before bed, your bed will get less dirty and you will smell less in the morning (do remember to change the sheets every once in a while!)
So when you do wake up you're not smelly at all, I'm typically not.
And not showering before bed makes me itchy all over and I'm not a very good sleeper.

That, and I'm seriously groggy in the morning, and my hair would dry up awkward if I go outside.

Edit: added a poll.

Bath at night, just a wash in the morning

you have a bath at night so you don't sleep in your own filth.

Not much reason to shower or bath in the morning, been sleeping in a clean bed so....nothing has changed....
yeah! bathe in your filth! and then lay in your bed with it!
forgot to say that in other post:
shower > bath if you want to be clean

you always smell anyway though boob so you don't notice yourself!  :-*

Quite mixed.

Sometimes in the morning if I think I require it (and I need to go somewhere nice), most times I do it after a running/training sessions. If it's summer I can take several baths a day depending on how active I am throughout the day.

Typically in the morning so I spend less time smelly during the day. I do prefer to shower at night however. It relaxes me, and its easier to sleep if you aren't sticky. Sometimes I do both.

This is why I think showering in the morning is a waste. You are going to get filthy anyway and you'll eventually end up showering again later.

Also, people who shower twice or more times a day, obviously live where water is abundant, or are not environmentally conscious.

I live in the desert where water is scarce. Therefore, I shower only at nights, only one time a day. During vacations, if I know I'm not leaving my house, I don't take showers in 3 or 4 days in a row. Why would you get dirty or sweaty if you are in your home all day? Just apply a good antiperspirant and deodorant and save water!

OCD much? You take way too many baths even if it's summer. Sweat doesn't smell when it's fresh. Only after a couple of days it'll start to get putrid. So no need to take several a day just take 1 at the end of your activities.

You think that the filth just magically disappears when using soap? Filth dissolves in soap, it doesn't go away. That's why the Japanese take a shower before stepping into the bath.

As for me 1 at night is best. After all my activities a shower is best to wash off everything and keep my bed clean.

Eh... perhaps the OP should clarify this.

I don't think he makes a semantic distinction between "shower" and "bath"; that's not the point. The point is "cleaning yourself with soap and shampoo". It really doesn't matter if it is technically a shower (vertical) or a bath (horizontal).

If it burns when you bathe, you're doing it wrong.

lets make something clear by "Sweating while sleeping" I dont mean you wake up soaked in sweat. . .Im pretty sure most of you should know that while you sleep you do "release toxins" sort of saying. . .and when you wake up (ask your girlfriend/boyfriend) you "smell". . .not necessarily bad but you smell like  . . .whatever smell you have. . .I could recognize my girlfriends smell. . .and dont look at this post like "Wtf is this guy talking about" . . .if you've been with someone long enough and not living in the same house/room you can distinguish their smell. . .which is easier to perceive after they wake up.

not all the time. . .when Im feeling a little sick (or feel on the verge of getting sick)
I always squeeze like 4 or 5 limes, add some salt and drink it all in 1 shot. . .then I step into the bath (or sit in the shower. . .:P) in the hottest temperature I can handle. . .I step out of the bathroom with steam comming out of my body and just basically faint on my bed. . .and I wake up like new

i know, and if you read my first post you'll see that i knew
i just thought i should mention this as well

and the difference is obvious, one has constant flowing (clean) water whereas the other does not
just like with washing dishes: the water gets filthy (/less clean), unless you use flowing water of course, like a shower

I'm pretty sure sweat doesn't take days to decompose; perhaps a couple of hours, but days? Hell, we all know people who can't take a 15-minute walk because they start reeking like shit afterwards. Sadly, most of these people are fat; fat decomposes really quickly and smells.

I can't recall what thread it was, but there was one member in here who actually accepted he had OCD and needed to take several showers a day because of that.

...

I'm pretty certain though, that soap and water, being super-awesome-chocolate-fudge-spectacularly-engineered as they are, mix well with filth, preventing the filth's re-attachment to one's body during a bath. So I'm not worried.

So you prefer a shower because you can take a dump and it won't make you dirty. Shitting while standing. The water is flowing. Aah, clever.

So, you are against people imagining themselves with underage women, but you are all for imagining taking a dump in a stranger's bath. <_< Way to take something and make it filthy.

The real explanation is this: in a bath, the volume of water surrounding you can contain more filth than the surface area of your skin. So yes, the filth will dilute into the water, leaving your body. Go ahead and rub your body; the darker the water gets, the cleaner you become; less filth per square centimeter in your body means I win.

Seriously, you are talking as if everybody is covered in horse manure before taking a bath. It's not like that. Most of our filth is just dust with sweat, which easily dilutes in water.

i'd still rather shower, bathing in filth is not appealing to me
i don't give a fuck whether it sticks to my skin or not

and yeah, i'd happily come take a shit in your bath, nothing wrong with that if you're into that shit (get it olol!?)
