Moving Files make Windows7 slow like turtle
sapsa:
I did few tests.
If im not copying files to C (the master disc partition) the speed starts at 10MB/s, and second after second increse by 0,1~0,2MB/s
And them hold on 50MB/s (tried with alot of anime ep's, so not 1 big file like in first test)
WTF?!
When im doing this (copying from disk to disk that are on same channel but master and slave) it's realy hard to do anything in firefox/chrome.
namaiki:
Can't really be helped if it's on the same channel. How much RAM do you have?
sapsa:
2GB only, because theres some issue with all 4 slots full of ram, and they can only work with 2 slots full 2 free, and only 4gb max anyway.
namaiki:
2GB is plenty. I think it would be better if the hard drives were on different channels and the optical drive on the opposite channel of the hard drive to where it will mostly be copying files to as well.
sapsa:
My optical driver is on ATA (IDE)
I got only 4 SATA connectors and 4 HDD's.
My main HDD (with OS) is on Channel 0, master.
Channel 0 - slave, ch1 master and slave are for data storage.
Not much I can do right now, only buying SATA controler with AHCI support would be the "best" so the NCQ function would work, but I dont know if that will boost the performance to the point that is visable.
