"upload failed!" error
« on: August 31, 2010, 08:04:50 AM »
Looking for input on this:

Upon clicking on "Make Offer", I get this message:

"Upload Failed!
Invalid announce url! multiple announce URLs not allowed. Only http://tracker.bakabt.com:2710/announce.php is allowed"

This is the first time I've ever seen this error message, as I'm uploading the torrent the same way with the same said announce tracker as all the ones I've uploaded in the past.

Remake the torrent, something may have gone awry, as the message indicates you might have included multiple announces by accident...

I've remade the torrent file over and over again (as well as filling out the offer info page over and over) and only included the normal announce tracker each time and receive the same message.
I'm doing nothing different with this upload attempt than with all the others in the past.

If "http://tracker.bakabt.com:2710/announce.php" is the only tracker on the list for the torrent while submitting it for upload,
is there still a possibility that there's another one not being displayed on the tracker list?
Then this would be something I'm unfamiliar with and never encountered before.

With which client are you creating the torrent?

utorrent is the only client I've ever used, and it's updated to the most recent version (2.0.4)

here's what it looks like:

Wow, this is a very unusual bug. I don't think anyone else is encountering it, since they seem to be able to offer new torrents just fine...

Send me the torrent via IRC, I'll try to offer it, and see what I get...

Now that it got uploaded, what was the solution?
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

It came down to removing an extra tracker announce line from the torrent.

Yea got a bunch of blank tracker lines that were...blank. So I couldn't see them.
Duki and Southrop helped me notice they were there, so once deleted in a tracker edit - good to go.
