As much as I like fan service, it seems to be a bit over-abundant nowadays. Not in a disgusting way or anything for the most part but, true character development is becoming rare. In large part, I think, from the focus on fan service and tits.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, there's not many anime who can deliver both in just the right amount. Fanservice is way easier to do after all.

Well duh. But I meant in anime. I rather have this kind of censoring than the kind of stuff in say Kampfer or Ikkitousen. Of course it's never been a decisive factor anyway, just a personal preference.

btw, am I right to figure out he is Munenori Yagyuu ? would be strange as Munenori Yagyuu and Jubei Yagyuu were not in the same time period, but if she is a deity now don't really care atm.
Didn't catch the subbers on spot there, also the group made several misspellings and mistakes, nothing eyecancering though.

Munenori Yagyu was the father of Yagyu Jubei....

The name of the main male character in this show is Muneakira Yagyu.

yes, and according to Capcom's Onimusha, Jubei Yagyu was the founder of the Yagyu style, and Munenori was his grandson, not his father lol, but you can easily check all the Sengokku era names on wikipedia, though not all are explained as who they were the names are there, and some even have pictures.

Watched episode 1 just now, and I must admit that I quite liked it.

The art reminds me a hell of a lot about Ookami, which I absolutely love. I'm not really expecting any intriguing plot, so I hope I'm either wrong, or that it doesn't end up being too long and overstaying its welcome (12-13 episodes max). The first episode left me with an impression that there might be something to the story, but I'm really just expecting fan service and action scenes.

yeah that came to mind as well but it also remonded me a bit from Samurai Champloo. I do hope your wrong about them doing nothing but fan service, its some what boring at thing point to get nothing but fan service in every anime. Like Havok said real are better then drawn so if I wanted real I wouldn't be watching anime.

well there was a bit of action in this episode, I don't mind fan service as long as there will be some fights, the ones in Ikkutousen were pretty decent from time to time.

the ink drops are really cool, and the way the light has sucked the drops into itself was really cool as well.

cuz if they made him a kickass again it wouldn't any interesting anymore, this way it's at least entertaining and fun ;]

seriously I don't mind them making all those Sengokku era shows but seing the same thing over and over again is going to become quite boring, I prefer to see some innovation, and this is interesting, just don't mind the fan service and look at other aspects, art work is nice, effects are interesting, characters are ... well we will have to wait and see if they are interesting.
