When someone asked if I knew women who have had breast cancer, I realized I didn't, and more so, in general, I haven't met many people who have died, not even close relatives.
Essentially, these are the people I've met who died, in somewhat chronological order:
1. A girl in 4th grade. I was too young, I didn't know her well. I think it was a car accident.
2. One uncle. His car was hit by another car. Supposedly, it was murder, since he was a lawyer. I was like 10 years old, and before that I had seen him only twice, perhaps. We are not very close with that side of the family.
3. My last two great grandmothers. One had Alzheimer, the other one was just old (over 90 years old). I didn't know them well.
4. The sister of an aunt, brain tumor; not really my relative. The mother of another aunt, old age; also not a blood relative.
5. A high school teacher, sclerosis or something like that. She was like 60, not old at all. I really liked her. Sadly, I was too busy with university work that I didn't visit her in her last days.

So, what about you?
Is your family small that you won't have to go to a funeral until your mom dies?
Are you the angel of death, and half the people you've met have died?
