Utorrent seeding issue
« on: September 07, 2010, 09:29:24 AM »
I use utorrent updated to the latest client version
my bandwith settings are as fallows

upload limit 3.4MB/s
Connections ( per torrent) 125
max active torrents 15
upload slots 30
Connections (global) 850
max active downloads 15

o just recently stumbled upon this site thanks to isohunt, and i really love this place, the community is great and the torrents are seemingly never dead, and i want to help continue that, my problem is, im seeding very slowly, if at all, i have verizon fios and the speeds of that ISP are magnigicent, but with what i see with my upload speed, im afraid that i may be banned or warned on my first week of being a member, can anyone help? have any advice on what to do or some settings i may have overlooked or not thought of? i dont want to lose my account T_T

The leecher availability on those torrents you're seeding is too low.

Also, grab some big 1080p freeleech torrents.

Look for anything that has a green [F] tag next to it.

I guess these would be some good ones. They have a fairly high number of leechers.

To be honest, stuff like 5/2 (mostly 4GB torrents) is good too. I've managed to seed over 30GB on several of them because there's so few seeders.

I'd imagine seeding on a 400/60 has got to be hard.

Anyone can become a power user, regardless of his upload speed, be it 56kbps or 56gbps. The requirement for power user status is not connection speed.

Don't think so. You should have power user status by now... Odd. Try getting your download to 25GB. AFAIK the transition to power user status is automated.

It is automated, but it is not instantaneous. It usually takes about a day for the server to recognize your new status.

My thoughts exactly. Somehow I thought he should have reached power user status a few days ago because he had reached 37GB upload last I checked... Then I looked again and realized he just joined yesterday. Doh.

Side note, I don't think you can get power user status within the first week, if new users have limited abilities during that timeframe.
