Urgh, its not that Japanese books are hard to find over here. ( There are 3 kinokuniya shops in my country ) But because kino sells the Japanese AND chinese AND English versions ( If its published o/c ) and usually the chinese version is cheapest...

So it leaves me to wonder: " Hey, theres the jap version which I don't understand, oh look theres a chinese version, I can read that and afford it at the same time! "

Chinese: $6-9
English : $16-22
Japanese : $14-93 (those packed with DVD/goodies combo)

So these are my new buys for today!

(click to show/hide)

So, my resolution to start building my Japanese collection died in less then 24hrs and yes. that Gyo manga's cover is holographic like a pokemon card :D

Chinese?  Where do they sell, I can read traditional which is rare these days.  And $16-22 for english, that's so expensive!  In Canada, I can get them for around $10.

Not really rare. Taiwan releases (Kadokawa, Tohan, Tongli) are Traditional. Dono about Hongkong. Chuang yi are
 simplified.

I see.  I didn't rare in manga publications, but just rare in usage in general.  When I speak to chinese people from china, no one understands me.

Traditional/Simplified is only in chinese kanji. Speech is same unless you're talking about dialect (Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese).

Yeah, as an HK'er  I usually associate traditional with Cantonese.  Whoops.

I've visited the shops in Helsinki and Tampere but also in Turku, Oulu and Lappeenranta. There's one on Jyväskylä also and Joensuu if I remember correctly. Might have been one more somewhere. That assistant must have been brand spanking new in the job. They should just hire me instead :D But yeah, if you're not about to travel around it's not much use to know all the locations.

Holy fucking crap.

Carlsen realized that manga were getting popular in Denmark and raised the prices from 40 kr. ($7.2) to 60 kr. ($10.9) and 70 kr. ($12.7). And apparently, people are still buying them. We have bynight events in my city where they're supposed to be 12% cheaper, pisses me off since I have Dragonball, Naruto, One Piece to finish. :(
I can buy used DB volumes at a place called Læsehesten (the reading horse lol) for about $18.1 for 4 volumes. I need 21 volumes to finish my DB collection.

Also, I bought Fullmetal Alchemist 1-2 since they also cost 70 kr. And my Soul Eater from Yen Press finally arrived today. Me is a happy man. ;D

Also..............n eed a new place to put my manga, I don't have that much place left. :P

So I bought this recently (yes it's ok to be envious xD). Sorry for the grainy picture, this was taken with the playstation eye and being a €30 camera it doesn't do a good job of taking quality pictures.

That would be Yen Press. While I'd rather have Japanese manga, I can't read Kanji or Katakana yet so that would be troublesome not to mention importing from Japan would cost a fortune. It was only printed this month so it's a miracle my mangashop had it :3
