ratio problem, old animes
« on: September 11, 2010, 02:46:26 PM »
hi!

so i've been warned.. the thing is i downloaded old animes so even if i seed upload is still approximately zero or 0 totally..

i read the FAQs on how to increase ratio; i'm trying to seed the 'popular' torrent however i can't download that particular file thus i can't seed..

err, is there a way out of this? i really want to increase my ratio since i can't donate.. hope you'll respond to my question (might be a bit noob, sorry for that i'm new here)

thank you very much!!

Try reading this

edit:
Just download some anime from the Internet, and afterwards seed it on bakabt or do like #glitchhunter is suggesting.

And that's why you should pay attention to the Wiki before you get warned ;)

You can still download with a public tracker (while you're logged out). Download files that way, then when they are done, re-download the torrent file while logged in and seed it.

Or download the same files from a different torrent site and seed them back here~

People download old anime, too - you yourself are an example.  If you stay online and wait, someone will come.

I wouldn't really count Bakemono, Death Note or Advent Children as "old", either. ;)

I have same problem than before me.. ( I was like half year coming back find anime and wondered why every time seed was red xD).. Well anyways I read some stuff and thinked well I go donate, but donation was locked and it seems its working on moneybrookers (never used before.)

Then I read some issue that paypal isn't there anymore wonder why? Well then I started look for other way around---> seed some stuff! I got and i found out theres no grabler baki around in serie, I got both 1 and 2 seasons nice quality buuuutt.. wat is this D:

"Power User:    Power users can view torrents' peer lists and report bad torrents or comments, as well as offer to upload torrents. To become a Power User you need a ratio of atleast 1.0 and 25GB uploaded."

It was huge blow on my crusade for getting my account back on + I was just minute ago sleeping and then I couldnt continue and came back to sort it out  8)

Hope people understand this rambling noncence and can help with it.. I read that part at up where you could get some anime somewhere and re-download it but sounds confusing, or maybe im just too tired to think clearly.

Get some sleep, then come back and read this.  It shouldn't be that difficult to understand when you're lucid.

We only need the money for the bills. Surplus is not needed. They are open again when the bills are due.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

well wouldnt it be good to have even some sur plus so your not in verge of needing pay yourself.. I just don't get the point inconvenience everyone to wait until its open several hours and closed again. I was sleeping while it was open and when i woke up i noticed it was open but its not anymore. Even I need sleep sometimes  :'( would be convenient to have some kind of calender to know when its gona be on later on, so if moneybrokers works and i could save some money at the time for donation, would know to be woke up when it on next time..

We do have a surplus of around 300 euros.

Also, have you considered looking into PFCorner, like our FAQ/For First Timers guide suggests?

What? The only point of donations is to cover site expenses. If donations were always open, there would be several thousand in surplus that would never go down. There was a time when they were always open and that was why donations started being closed.

Yeah, there's nothing more annoying than having lots of extra money around, let me tell you.

If this was a business, then extra money would be great.  We are a (non-registered) non-profit, however, so surplus income can be a big pain in the arse to deal with.

There are better things for you to spend your money on.

If you REALLY have too much money. I currently require £50 to buy myself a Milksnake.
There's no benefit in you donating to me apart from the warm and fuzzy feeling in your heart that you helped a friendly BBT member get a snake he so desires.
PM me if interested. >_>

I think i was whacked last time for asking. But why not just distribute the surplus and increase the staff's salary? They (especially Duki) work so hard for our sake. ;D The thread got locked unfortunately since it went off-topic back there.
Parts of it I admired greatly, parts I laughed at till my sides were almost sore;
other parts I read with absolute sorrow,  because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous...

Because we don't get paid. All the work we put into the site is all voluntary.

^ What Southrop said. Which, by the way, is why disrespect toward staff isn't tolerated. If they were paid to put up with people, it might be a different story. I don't get why everyone seems to think the staff gets paid.

Same, I'd love donations. It'd be nice to get $370 CAD in donations so I can get myself a nice i7. Or $300 for a nice SSD. If you all have that much money to throw away, I'd love to have some of it.

@Freedom Kira - Forums and IRC for BBT are MY places to beg for free money. Find your own place, jerk. :(
