My favorites are:
8, 11, 12

12 is the easiest out of those and 8 being the hardest IMO (only because of that ultra annoying Reimu boss in stage 4). I suggest you start out with 12 because it's easier and then move onto 11 because 11 has Utsuho Reiuji as final boss :3 Nuclear Fusion people, Nuclear fusion.

there is just one more thing you have to do. put all the games in one big touhou game file so they all together. now, Hisoutensoku needs to be linked to Scarlet Weather Rhapsody so you can have all the girls in the game. it's confusing but not hard to do. this will help http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3GuWA9Z6HRI , but PM me if you have any questions. also, you need to have all the girls unlocked in SWR for them to work in Hisoutensoku.

this is about the only thing youtube is actually good for, people who know what they are doing make tutorials for just about anything.

lol, I never found linking up SWR and UNL very hard x.x

the intstructions simply say to paste the directory into UNL's settings file x.x

You certainly don't need it but when you link the two games yuo basically unlock every character

heh, only touhou fans would get that joke

If you're up for some fangames I recommend Touhou Pocket Wars EVO +. It's not touhou-esque but, obviously, uses Touhou characters and it's addicting as hell.

For official ones... well I'm hooked on UNL (12.3) cuz it has net play and I'm alwasy playing with a friend of mine... but thats just me.

I think IN is the easiest though, it has the longest death bombing time (0.7 sec) compared to the other touhou games (0.2 iirc)

and I've already played UNL, i like it but it's a fighting game. how about subterranean animism?

well it's just that the death bombing time is the easiest, in terms of gameplay, EoSD might be a bit easier... although Flan's spellcards are a bit annoying

hmm...

well, it's really hard to say... SA is definitely one of the harder Touhous while IN is in the middle range... I think EoSD is on the easier side...
