Can't you just connect the PS3 to your computer screen? I used that solution for my xbox 360 in order to save on costs.

You can. But well, some of us enjoy things on bigger screens.

I tried that on my boyfriend's moniter.  Unfortunately, it doesn't have HDCP which means it won't work.  :(

I know the feeling.  :(  *gives Arveene a cookie*

ICO, Shadow of the Colossus PS3 vids are simply amazing.

I will have to disagree with that assessment. It looks good, scenic but technically lacking. It looks like a well made game from ~2009. Which is a huge jump from where it started but nowhere near amazing. I only checked the ICO video since I have played SotC on emulator and didn't like the game while ICO looks interesting.

I agree that it isn't as good looking at all compared to modern day games or even games from 2009... I will say that I like it that way. Both of those games are forms of art and they were perfect (graphically and gameplay) in every way possible. I'm glad that they only cleaned it up some but still retained most of what made those two games great... the atmosphere.

At the bolded: WHAT?! You didn't like SotC?! I mean it's a pretty niche game when it comes to gameplay, but ICO is pretty much the same. Simplistic design but engrossing themes (underlying and otherwise) and incredible depth of atmosphere. Both the games are like pieces of art, anyone can interpret what the message of the game says, but you will get many different answers.

The story and art of SotC was good. The gameplay was horrid and boring (personal opinion). If they had made a cinematic movie instead of a game I would have rated it higher, the idea, looks and environment were good as far as I played. Yet I couldn't force myself to bother with the combat, seems I don't like that type of boss fights where you learn a timing and place to attack and nothing else really matters. Or whatever the problem was, I just didn't have fun, looks only carries a game to a certain point. (Looks on an emulator is better than it was on the console since you have higher resolutions.)

So you never played it on a PS2? I will say that it's not the same (I've played both the PS2 version and the emulator version). It feels a lot more organic (the combat I mean) with a controller... a keyboard never really felt that organic.

I played ICO on the PS2 with an emulator and PS3 controller... Didn't have any issues, but I still enjoyed the game a lot.

Too bad they didn't do much more with the graphics other than improve lighting and make textures bearable.
