Seeded downloads not starting, have tried 3 different clients

turning them off is not the issue. the issue is that you are even ABLE to turn them ON on that specific bakabt torrent. that means that you either
- modified the torrent file or
- modified your client
to ignore the private flag of a torrent. i just can't think of another explanation.

Behonkiss:
The only things I changed were the directory I wanted to save them to and un-checking some files I didn't want.  Would that screw things up?

No, that shouldn't screw things up. Have you tried redownloading the .TORRENT file?

Oh wow, that did it!  The problem must have been that I just copy-pasted the tracker URLs into the others from BitComet instead of opening the original torrent file with them.  Thanks.
