Navigating the computer/internet without a mouse.

Fucking thing broke on me, I have no extras, and the store doesn't open for another three hours.

Good thing I know my key commands.

People complaining about 10 bit fansubs because they want to watch on their phone/tablet/mediaplayer-box-thing.
Dunno what do you guys have against Windows 8... it just has a different start menu (fulscreen one). Otherwise it is same or better as before. - OnDeed

Lack of sleep when you REALLY need to sleep.
The problem with the world is that the intelligent  people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.

lol I feel ya... had that shit goin on a couple weeks ago, for days... I kept prying myself away from the screen for a few minutes here n there but it wasn't working. Eventually I spent like half a day outside and it's been better but since yesterday it's been getting bad again. Right now my eyes hurt a bit, got a minor headache and things far away lack texture lol. I feel very greasy too, showered last night so was gonna try to get through the day without but I dunno... Seems acne/oil production has hit me a good few years late and it sucks. I just made a sandwich, prolly gonna go sip tea and eat outside and hopefully my eyes will feel a bit better. I wanna watch some anime without worrying I'm damaging my eyes! XD <--- that's me squinting, trying to moisten them and make them feel better.

My laptop finding ordeal. If I see something that meet my criteria, I find that it

1. Goes way over budget
2. Not available locally
3. Out of stock

So in the end I had to cut out some of my criteria.

I feel you there.... I hate the way they always mention the good points in ads and so you look at detailed specs and there's always some area that they either cheaped out in or made it so you can't take advantage of it and 'upgrade'.

The latter refers more to desktops but same idea... always lacks a PCIE x16 slot or there's no room or the PSU is too gimpy. For laptops it's always no GPU, the CPU is some ancient generation, or it's $300 more but it has some janky low-end GPU. Or it's $400 more but it has a newer i5.

Just bought Total War: Rome 2 on Steam in a moment of madness, totally forgetting that of course I would need to download the entire game in order to play it. The game is a 20GB download. The monthly bandwidth cap on my internet connection, past which we start paying per MB, is 20GB.

It could be some time before I'm actually able to play the damn thing...
What a crazy time live with such a HORRID connection.
My net doesn't have 'caps' per say, they just start slowing your ass down when you go past 500GB.

Man, everyone talks about 'throttling' and caps but I've never experienced it. I doubt I've broken 500GB many times but that seems like a high cap. Even still, I'm sure I did when I had to transfer everything to my new rig. Instead of using 'sharing' or some other shit I just torrented it all to my new HDD and a ton more and almost filled 1TB in a few days. I always see >90% of my max bandwidth from well seeded torrents.

When I first go not-dial-up, I kind of went nuts.

With a connection maxed out...I didn't stop downloading for like 2 months.
Easily went over 3TB in that time
-Hey, I had to replace all my tvrips with the dvd/brrips. XD

My ISP was NOT happy.

lol I grew up with cable, like in the late 90s(around 98 when SC/BW was the shit) I recall having had cable for a while but everyone I knew had dial up. I recall later in my teens one of my friends who's parents were cheap still had dial up. He'd tell me "I open a page and go get a cup of coffee and as long as there aren't any images it's usually done loading" AHAHAHAHA shit was hilarious.

Anyway, it gets better.... I was at a store recently and their register still had dial up. Like I was tripping out when I saw the dial up modem and they were like "yeah... we're changing to cable soon"
I'm not trying to make fun of anyone, I just can't believe *ANYONE* has dial up still... in 2013...

I'll add to the thread, now: It pisses me off when people tell me how lucky I am to be tall or thin... they usually use the word 'skinny' which pisses me off even more. Obviously to come off as overly polite I have to flash a grin and bear with it when I'd like to tell them how tactless they are.

Oh god, thought of another... fandom.... loud, in-your-face, can't-just-go-enjoy-it-cause-they-have-to-tell-you-all-about-it-type fandom. MLP fans seem to be this way as are a lot of Touhou fans. I don't care that they like it, I'm *happy* for them. I just wish they wouldn't go around trying to tell everyone about it. I even like the Touhou Project games though couldn't possibly care less about MLP. I hate how every fuckin video on youtube has some kid talking about 'Touhou'(because apparently when you become a super-fan you forget the full title of the franchise, let alone individual work you're talking about) and another talking about 'MLP: FIM'. The '1D' kids weren't anywhere near as bad.

In my experience the pony kids are likely tweens and behave like lil' brats. I don't care that they think their show is SO great, everyone's entitled to an opinion. It's the way I have to look at all these stupid pictures of ponies just trying to get around the internet. They're fuckin' everywhere and the art style isn't to my liking by any means... it's garish and obnoxious. It's like they're *meant* to be obnoxious. The one with obnoxious sunglasses and the retarded one are beyond anything I could imagine.

It's like someone took the cast of Friends and some other obnoxious show and turned them into ponies... and then made them even more obnoxious looking. I'm trying to think of celebrities that are almost as annoying and no one comes to mind. The kid from the Hunger Games movie kind of annoyed me. I'd rather spend eternity with him than one minute looking at obnoxious damn ponies.

Back to the 'Touhou' kids. I'm not *mad* at them for their behavior, I'm not *mad* that they don't like the same things I like, that would be immature. I just can't help being annoyed when they go talk about how "super difficult" Touhou games are or how "awesome" the character designs are and the list goes on. I think we can all agree that Touhou Project games in general are alright as far as danmaku games go but not especially difficult.

As well I think it's obvious the character designs are extremely stereotypical of Japanese pop culture ie anime/manga/etc. Really all anime/manga/etc is like that, I'm sure it's the same for american animation. It's all been done before, it's like you can draw their hair in *this* style or in *that* style and you can color it green or blue or pink or a darker shade of pink to try and make them unique but that's all it is. Without making an unattractive or just plain 'weird' looking character, there's nothing that hasn't been done 10,000 times before. Only the 'ur example' of an archetype should be considered original. Being unoriginal doesn't make something *bad* but it shouldn't be called original and it shouldn't be treated as such.

"Oh, they're all super-powerful witch lolis?" Like... I've NEVER seen that before! The list just goes on and on. I'm fine with the fact that it's unoriginal, I enjoy the games. I feel cliches are a good thing... the best, in fact. Something becomes cliche because it's effective.

Now I'm sure you'll all change your avatars to fuckin' ponies to troll me... :( I'd pay for software that detects images of MLP-related content and hides/blocks it. Even if it replaced it with something super-gay. There's not much that annoys me more than MLP shit.

Things that piss you off: LillyTown who digresses every thread they are in.

I don't think you want to be warned again... And one other thing, you'd better read our rules regarding forum signatures.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Sure thing, I didn't realise I was being warned the other day for the sheer length of my posts but I can keep it more concise. I'll look for the rules regarding sigs. Also, I realise I went a lil' overboard talking about the MLP and Touhou fans, I don't mind editing it so as not to offend anyone.

EDIT: I looked at the "Forum Guidelines" thread and still don't know what I'm doing wrong? Is it 'Bashing/Hate"? If you say it's gotta go then I guess it can't be helped but I'd like to be clear that *I* didn't just come up with that too bash OnDeed. OnDeed himself wrote that, exactly as it appears and I *too* was shocked ;)

EDIT: Sorry, Southrop, I'm an idiot :( I used ctrl+f and in trying to save my time I wasted yours. I don't want to derail this thread any more but I wouldn't feel right without apologizing. I hate people that behave as I did, it was a jerk move. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I've removed the sig image and will keep to the topic at hand in the future.

I specifically stated to the barber that I did not want my sides trimmed like a hipster.

Guess what I got.

It's been like this at several (cheap and expensive) barbershops now, I don't think I can communicate with them at all. Do you think it would be worth the effort to try and learn to cut my own hair?

Yeah you never get what you ask for, I can 100% relate to that.

I learned to cut my own hair, but mine is pretty long and fluffy so my sloppy "scissorwork" is not very noticable. I'd never dare attempt cutting a guys hair, I know I'd mess that up.
