Sometimes the updates are released too soon. I usually wait to see if there's any problems popping up before deciding to install them.

it doesn't hurt much to fully disable updates no? i might just do that to save me the troubles of piling up bugs.

I've set it to only check without downloading, so at least I know when new updates pop up.

I've got mine at look, but no download and always have. I only install virus definition updates and usually a week after they release, the rest. Most of the time, by then, there are new updates :p

I just let the MSE definitions update automatically.
