Pretty simple i got some friends who really enjoy watching anime (one of them secretly also reads manga as well as hentai) but they think it would tarnish there reputation if they reveal that. they just join in the stupid chatter that anime is for kids and ..and you know the rest what some retards say.

Also one of these guys literally didn't sleep until he had finished code geass and always has his jaw drop whenever he watches bleach/naruto. Although this person appreciates nice story line, direction etc. (a huge movie fan) he would never appreciate that anime is good/worth watching when what he does is exactly contradicting.

Though I have no RL friends. Communication with them was comparably inefficient to communicating with friends on the internet, our interests were not necessarily shared and group activities came at a monetary cost not covered by my monthly internet charge.

I doubt that when you have seen top animes like code geass, naruto and bleach (oh yeah not to mention Dragon Ball Z, though they accept this, mainly cause majority has seen them and they agree on that).

They think just 'cause they watch movies and real stuff they are much matured/superior to us. (and believe me i have a better taste of movies than most of them, atleast in my circle i do) its just that anime beats those movies most of the time.

To be fair there are plenty of good live action western movies. But anything Miyazaki is still 100 times better. It's better than sex, better than even chocolate.
