I think it might be a legal thing. Just use a password storer and put the card number in there next time? Or work on memorising it?
I always just use these opportunities to go "Hey, maybe I didn't need that"

Because it's safe to leave things locked in your car, concealed or not. At least, in the town I live in.
Plus, it's a major pain in the ass to carry my wallet while working.... Might drop it, lose shit out of it, break the cards inside as I bend over and crush it with wood or something, it's likely to get damaged/lost if I carry it with me.
Plus, locked up in my car, is safer than sitting on a power box or bench of some kind at work, where anyone could walk by and slip a $20 out without me noticing (not that anyone would, but still...)

Safe or not, car theft is always nice.
I have all my important numbers conveniently mixed up in my contact list in my cell phone.
ALL
And someone average looking through the contacts would never have guessed what he's looking at XD
And I don't leave my cell phone in a car :D
