Winter has been pretty mild here this year all things considered, and it's been mostly sunny. But there is a flu going around right now (and I just saw a FB post from my roommate saying that he had a stomach ache at work last night), so I may be fighting something off as well. I did feel crappy (scratch throat, a little bit achey) a few days ago. That usually happens to me a few times a year; I start to get symptoms like a cold or flu, and about 85% of the time, it goes away in a few days; the other 15% of the time I end up with a bad cold for 2 weeks. I never seem to get the flu though, and I don't get flu shots. That's something to NOT be pissed off about -- having an immune system that's particularly resistant to the flu. (Either that or I'm just lucky.)

Earlier, there was a mini-pageant thing @ college department and this "special guest" guy barges in (not literally, of course) to sing for the girls. cue ALL the girls(and gays, some of which shocked me because they act and look masculine) in the auditorium squeeing like someone just thew a truckload of snakes all over the place.

that's not the most annoying part though. the fact that the ordeal lasted half an hour is (just reminding that squeeing ensued the whole fucking time).

to be fair, the guy deserved the squee, he was cool, charismatic, and is a good singer. he also knew he was taking up time. but damn, was it annoying. if he came earlier in the show i wouldn't complain. but he came near then end of it and was dragging down the announcement of winners and i wanted to go home pronto because the girls got changed and were no longer showing their legs...
