Sounds like a jerk.
No, that's not jerk material.

We have a term for this kind of people, in Japan, humoristically, you could call it Yandere, but it's actually not.
In Poland we would call that kind of people, a man in this case, popierdoleniec.
I am not aware of it's equivalent in English, I know all bad words and curses in english language, and none match it.
Take Son of a bitch, mix it with asshole, add a pinch of bastard, and pepper it with scum. Then up with with ^6

the result would be an image of this guy:

Being the handsome guy.

And the person I am trying to translate it into, is ugly like you have never seen before :)

pizza delivery waking me up at 1 am. No I didn't order :(

sleep inertia made me confuse the intercom for a fire alarm for a moment. :'(

Science Fiction or Fantasy literature with a political agenda that beats you over the head with it, and adds a kick to the groin for good measure.

Even if I agree with the message I'm being cudgelled with, when it completely overshadows the narrative to the point that I want to beat my head against a wall, then the message itself is discredited as being extreme.

Ayn Rand and Terry Goodkind come to mind immediately, but I've been reading some 70's and 60's new wave SF that make me horribly misanthropic, depressed, and just generally disenchanted with ideologies in general.

Haha Jesus.

I dunno, some people I know really liked it, it's basically just a string of different political ideologies and why they're flawed. I forget which one it settles on as perfect, or if it does... It's been a while since I read it.

I wouldn't call Watership Down "political", at least compared to Ayn Rand.

I was reminded of The Book Thief, but I fucking love that book.
Also, The Mote in God's Eye, if anyone has read that. It's political messages are rather general, I didn't mind them.

It was more about general philosophy than specifically political. Can't compare it to Ayn Rand's stuff which is completely and overtly political.

Yeah froody, we totally didn't read the same book. It shoved it down your throat, it was painful.

And I agree, Rand's stuff was political, but I don't see how you think Watership Down isn't.

I'm gunna leave you anyway.

I would not mind it if it's like Animal Farm, if the story is interesting and the metaphor well composed.

Allegorical fiction should be clever, it shouldn't feel like you're being sermonized to by a pretentious sanctimonious blowhard who's so locked into their ideology that they utterly dismiss alternative viewpoints.
