Having a pre-arranged group (of people who are hardly above average skillwise) is great to have, huh? Too bad I didn't have anyone available and had to go at it alone (the worst possible torture, most of the time anyway). $:-\$

Not worth it to try and get into a game where I'll just A) get shit stomped for the first few months and B) hate everyone I play with.

That's my point, it's a bad community to try and get into it.

All the BS surrounding marijuana and it's health effect. Some people are putting it at the same level as cocaine and heroine spreading all kind of ridiculous myths like that it makes people violent and such while others are completely denying that it has any harmful health effect despite the very large volume of scientific literature proving the contrary.

Ok guys here are some facts.

It is associated with lung cancer. Many studies find it to be more dangerous per joint than tobacco probably because of the method of consumption used, though users tend to smoke less of it. Neither the less, it's effect is well documented.

It strongly increases the risk of schizophrenia.

It is addictive, both physically and psychologically, at a level comparable with alcohol or tobacco.

It strongly correlate with car accidents though the correlation is generally smaller than with alcohol and we know that it increase user's reaction time behind the wheel.

Nobody has never died from an overdose.

It does not generally make people more aggressive.

Long story short, it's unhealthy in the same way as alcohol or tobacco.

No. One of the main risk associated with high alcohol consumption a cirrhosis, a risk not shared with marijuana and the relationship is also much stronger. It's also possible to kill yourself if you drink too much while there have never been any death caused by marijuana. As I said, the risks are different but overall about equivalent.

I respect your point, but I disagree with you. Especially considering that the risk of schizophrenia among young people, particularly young males, is quite high. I know several people that suffer from it due to marijuana. I am biased growing up in BC where just about everyone that I grew up with smoked weed.

I also find that people that are high do more stupid things because they're not drunk, so why would their state of mind be affected?

I strongly disagree on this one. Never seen a stoned guy get in a fight unless he also had alcohol in the blood.

Keep in mind I don't actually smoke myself, since I dislike the effect, though I also very rarely get drunk.
