You have seniority, over time they'll mature and young'ins will come to annoy them. If they're just being lazy however, you can just stare them in the eyes and say no.
Sure, it's hasn't worked with my cats, but I'm sure it'll work on your average white collar.
They're made of weaker material.
Heh, I wish it worked that way, but it doesn't. I've got 5 Indian guys on the other side of the planet pestering me with problems & questions, programmers who ask
me how to fix programs or how the software is supposed to work (I test it, I don't design it), project managers asking me to solve for them technical problems that I have nothing to do with, or, worse, asking me to use my crystal ball and figure out when other people are going to deliver on their work (other people who don't report to me, whom I have no control over). It goes on and on. Now, at age 38 with 11 years on the job, I'm still one of the youngest people on staff, so it's mind-boggling to me when people I work with who have more years of experience than I do get hung up on the simplest damn things. Or on complex things that they should be able to handle without me holding their hands.
Heck, our company is consolidating offices, so we're moving to another building in a month. We had a big meeting today to discuss details of the move, and one woman was in a panic because she will have to unplug her PC and plug everything back in herself on the day of the move. Of course I can't speak out during such a meeting, but my thought was, "For fuck's sake, woman, you're a project manager for a Fortune 500 IT company, and you can't even fucking plug in your own PC?!"
I think I've whined enough for one day, I'll stop now, I promise.

In my group of friends, we have a saying: "But enough about me, let's talk about... me!"
